AVSIM 2004 Conference Announced....

I'm almost afraid to ask, Tom... but does this mean conference attendees will have a crack at one of their simulators? And if so, should I be speaking with a loan officer about this soon? This year's conference was a blast. Can't wait for next year!

"does this mean conference attendees will have a crack at one of their simulators?"Yup... that is definitely what it means Bill. :)Details are still be worked out and it is very early days, but UAL has been gracious enough to give us access to those beauties. Because of 911, there will be some caveats and what have you, but you will be able to get up close and personal with their full motion sims.

what's the distance to Phoenix and Salt Lake City?I was planning to visit that area (mainly the national parks) around that time next year, maybe I can combine the two?

Again, a very insensitive choice of dates which makes it impossible for me to even consider attending. That's two years in a row, Tom, do you need a more detailed calendar?

Sigh, here we go again, heh Ed? There is absolutely no date on the calendar that doesn't cause a conflict with someone's schedule, school, religion, holidays, ad naseum. You are one person (and the only person who has EVER complained about our selection of date due to religion). One person does not make our dates an "insensitive choice". I am sorry Ed, but the end of September is our preferred date; has been since '01 when we started doing this, and will be until we stop.

Tom, I have always wanted to go to a conference, I have tried to go to the last three but life has always gotten in the way. This past conference was only a state away since I currently live in Ohio, I thought that I was sure to go but it was not meant to be. Now you announce that the next one will be in Denver, my old stomping grounds since I was raised in Colorado Springs, well you can bet that I will be there this time, the end of the world will not stop me this time! Boys, warm up those full motion sims because here I come!!!!!!! Tom I will be in touch in the next week or two as I have some ideas and some contacts in the area that might enhance list of things to do while out there. Let me make a few calls and I'll let you know. Thanks, Philip

Thats great for a conference,I went through the United Taining Center and flew the 767 full motion sim in the summer of 2001.I will be there for this one,its a great place. JeffG

Thanks, Tom, that's clear and to the point. I will not raise the issue again.Best Regards,

Tom,It's much better to be consistent and have the majority of people plan around a known timeframe, than to move the date each year.Unfortunately, things in life happen and people will not be able to attend every conference. For example, I'll be in Italy ($$$ already paid and commited) when my fellow simmers are in the UAL sims. As much as I'd like to see the conference one weekend earlier, so I could include a stop in Denver as a part of my trip, it's more important to know all future AVSIM conferences will be scheduled for the end of September.Bruce

Well, finally a reason to fly the non-stop Orlando-Denver Frontier A319 service. This will be the first convention for me and looking forward to it. Never been to Denver and staying at a Hilton isn't so shabby!

will you bring your blob?

>will you bring your blob?i think he might....might stop certain folks from attending, the blue blobs for instance ;-)

Oh no, I've been downgraded from citizen to denizen! :-laugh1Well I'm so happy to see it's going to be in Denver! Since that's where I live I'll be there. :) And, since Green Blob is Blue Blobs buddy I would hope to see both of them there. ;)Thanks Tom!Jim
