December 13, 201015 yr Is there an easy way to lengthen the straight pushback distance in FSX before the left/right turn starts?(I know there's an addon gauge which does this, controls taxi-sppeds, and more, but it has to be added to each aircraft individually and seems complex. I'm wondering if there's a fix for the default pushback embedded in FSX?)Thanks,Toni.
December 13, 201015 yr I always thought the pushback would go straight back until you pressed either the 1 or 2 key to make it turn. Mine does?Bob G. Mine does?Bob G.Thanks Bob - what I find is that to turn, e.g. to the left during pushback, I have to press Shift-P and immediately 1 to get the plane to turn.If I press Shift-P to start the pushback, and wait before pressing 1 or 2, the plane continues straight back with no turn....Toni.
December 13, 201015 yr You are getting the normal pushback that is programmed into FSX. Shift/p==straight, shift/p+1 or 2 immediately gives left and right turns. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.

At least that happens with me. Just need patience and hope that there isn't a lake behind you.Chris David

Shorter the aircraft, the faster the turn will start. Bob G. December 13, 201015 yr Moderator After pressing Shift-P, the a/c will continue straight back until a 1 or 2 key is pressed. At that point, the a/c will continue straight back for the length of the a/c, at which time it will turn either left or right as selected.HOWEVER! If you change views or issue any other keyboard command, the instruction to "turn" will be ignored! In that case, you need to re-issue the Shift-P command and then immediately issue the 1 or 2 "turn command."IOW, once you command a pushback with Shift-P, the sim is waiting and expecting a "turn command." If you interrupt this sequence with another command instead, FS will "forget" about the previous Shift-P command.BTW, this is precisely how FS has handled "pushback" for the past three versions... :( Fr. It was definitely the case in FS9.Conversations like this remind me why I like AES so much.
