Help Keeping External Frame Rate Limiter Dos Window Open

Featured Replies

Trying to use the external frame rate limiter listed in *******'s automated tweaking utility but every time try to run it it opens the DOS window for a micro second and closes. How do i keep it open and know that it's working inside FSX?Also I see where in the read me F11 and F12 are used to adjust the FPS value if using this key inside FSX for view control will it be fluctuating the FPS limiter too? I have EZCA and Track IR so I don't need to use F11 or F12 but I would still like to know. Thanks in Advance,Robert

The .BAT file must be placed inside the same folder as the FPS Limiter files. Then you can just send a shortcut to your desktop.

Not to hijack but my FPS Limiter appears to run correctly but does not limit the FPS? DOS window appears, I get the green FPS=30 over the FSX screen at start-up but no limit I can tell.ThanksRick S.

What .bat file? As far as I can tell the link on *******'s tweak utility had me download a .rar file which when extracted contained a readme.txt file 4ea .dll's 1 .jar file and the .exeI'm clearly missing something here, thanks for the help.

Double click the java file (.jar), and it will run a tiny application where you select the fsx.exe file...

Ok created the .bat and shortcut so I am assuming you use this .bat shortcut to launch FSX in order to have the limiter take effect? Seems weird not clicking the .exe to execute the program?

Sorry for the confusion. I use the FPS Limiter without using Java.I simply opened Notepad and entered the following text:start C:\"Users\Matt\Documents\FPS_Limiter_0.2\"FPS_Limiter.exe /r:D3D9 /f:30 /x:ON /l:OFF "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exeObviously, each file path has to be edited for your own system. The f:30 part is the the frame limit.I then saved it with the .BAT extension, placed the file in the FPS Limiter folder, created a shortcut to it and it worked.

Yep you use the .bat file instead. That's the whole point.... the bat file is similar to an exe file.
