Inland Florida Water?

Featured Replies

I'm still trying to find a way to get the correct water color for inland FL lakes, etc. I'm trying to get the realistic brown-green-muddy, but I only can get the unrealistic light blue. I have UTX and have tried various settings, without results. Any ideas on what to use?

Rex 2 Overdrive has the best water in the business. You can even change the color of the water to suit your needs. You can then save it and back it up.If you don't own REX run and get a copy.

It sounds good, but I'm really only dissatisfied with the water. REX seems like a lot to add just to change the water. In any case, if I do install REX, can you easily just use it for the water and not use the other features?

You might want to look at Flight Environment X from Flight 1, it does what you want.

You can choose what features to install - so if it is just water you can just do water.

It looks like someone answered your question. As for FEX, if I had to choose one, I would choose REX 2. There are many options that once you try them, you will see that they will dramatically enhance FSX.Plus, I have FEX and I don't recall a feature that allows you to change the water color. There are textures, but there's no way to modify the texture color. I've never noticed it.

You don't have to buy REX to fix your problem. You need to use the UTX setup tool to check that you have the WC Waterclass Layer active (see Landclass/Waterclass). If it is active and the colors are not right, you can Modify Texture Mappings For Ultimate Terrain Features under "Advanced". This allows you to select a texture set for each type of water body.
