October 30, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member Hi all:thanks again for the kind words - glad you're having fun!For the FSG mesh owners, have a look at this post before you download the big files (though it won't do ya any harm): http://portal.fsgenesis.net/index.php?name...viewtopic&t=306Cheers, Holger
October 30, 200322 yr These are some very well-deserved plaudits for your outstanding scenery, Holger. Congratulations!Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
October 30, 200322 yr Holger, one more voice from the bush; Thank you for this wonderful mesh & scenery improvements! :)I've been to Calgary and Banff and Lake Luise some years ago and today I flew there with your mesh. Sure brings back lots of memories! Beautiful, wonderful! Since I live on the brink of the Alps I sure do appreciate if them hills and mountains look right in the sim. Say, if you won't run for presidency, then maybe we can expect some more mesh? Knitting clubs can look after themselves methinks. ;) Regards,JureBush Flying Unlimited]"At home in the wild"[/i
October 30, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Luis and Jure, thanks for the appreciation - receiving all these nice messages and emails sure is a good incentive to do more projects in the future but first I'll do some flying!!!FYI, I've posted a few more screenshots in the thread below, including one of my first FS ski run in Banff N.P. - you should try it too!http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/DC...21/8531.html#11Cheers, Holger
October 31, 200322 yr Holger, Ok, I am sure there would be interest in a seperate landclass and a seperate mesh also, although after seeing this i would rather have the whole thing so its a moot point really. My purpose of this post is a request, im sure you get a lot. I have not really been satisfied with the landclass and mesh around the Grand Teton/ Jackson Hole area to date. While there is some decent mesh, the landclass and lakes are mostly not accurate. I would think after seeing this that you would be the person for the job! If you do this I might just do the airport in Jackson to complete this beautiful area.Just an idea, please give it some thought!Hornit
October 31, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Hornit:yup, you're correct - I do get those requests a lot (yesterday only about three or four) ;-)Grand Teton/Jackson Hole is a very neat area and definitely worthy of some upgrades (have you tried the free FS Genesis landclass replacement for the continental US?). Aside from the fact that I won't be doing more FS scenery stuff for a while I tend to stick to areas that I know well and have good data to work with. Us Canucks are lucky to have a free source for Landsat 7 ETM satellite imagery of pretty much the entire country, which turned out to be the perfect base map for redrawing and adding lakes, roads, etc.Hopefully, at some point we'll have an automated tool that will let us import existing accurate stream/lake/road/etc data into FS. Until then, it's never too late to learn how to use the amazing freeware utilities out there and do some terraforming of your own - it's fun!!!Cheers, Holger
