January 7, 201115 yr Commercial Member Unfortunately, I'm unable to do that, due to the fact I'm not at my computer (I'm posting this by cell phone) but window 00 has not been modified--it is still the default arrangement from ESDG.I understand that, I want to see what the gauge entry is for the PFD in Window00 for a reason. So, when next at your computer, please let me know what that line contains. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
January 7, 201115 yr Author I understand that, I want to see what the gauge entry is for the PFD in Window00 for a reason. So, when next at your computer, please let me know what that line contains. No problem. I'm looking now and the line reads:gauge01=ESDG_CitationX!PFD_2D_PILOT, 313, 597, 355, 451,1:1:0 https://www.mediafire.com/view/dz3buh31pti9cej/BoeingDriverSignature.jpg/file
January 7, 201115 yr Commercial Member No problem. I'm looking now and the line reads:gauge01=ESDG_CitationX!PFD_2D_PILOT, 313, 597, 355, 451,1:1:0Replace your Window08 entry with this and see if that works:[Window08]file=PFD.bmpsize_mm=320, 700window_size_ratio=1.0position=0visible=0ident=191window_size= 0.320, 0.700window_pos = 0.095, 0.31gauge00=ESDG_CitationX!PFD_2D_PILOT, 0, 0, 320, 700,1:2:191gauge01=MyNewGauges!FirstZoomGauge, 0,0,150,150 Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
January 7, 201115 yr Author Alas that didn't make any difference (I added the "1:2:191" entry after the location of gauge=0 as you indicated).Nevertheless, I certainly appreciate your efforts to assist me. https://www.mediafire.com/view/dz3buh31pti9cej/BoeingDriverSignature.jpg/file
January 7, 201115 yr Moderator The reason your "custom zoom gauge" won't work is because you won't ever see it unless the popup window is opened. It needs to be added to the [Window00] set of gauges so it will show up on the main 2d panel somewhere.gaugenn=MyNewGauges!FirstZoomGauge, 0,0,150,150 Also, if you make the background image pure black (0,0,0) it will be "invisible..." January 7, 201115 yr Author That makes sense to me, Bill.So I made an entry at the bottom of the main panel (window=00) for "firstzoomgauge" giving it the number of 32 (the next consecutive number after 'Citation ATC ID'). And now that I think about it, I recall seeing the mini icons being placed there in default planes for the same reason. But for some reason, I'm not seeing any change in the pop-up. Here's one thing that's odd: the knobs on the pop-up PFD actually DO function and I can see them altering the elevation tape on the original PFD as I change the BARO SET. https://www.mediafire.com/view/dz3buh31pti9cej/BoeingDriverSignature.jpg/file
January 8, 201115 yr Moderator That's not at all surprising, since those bits of the gauge aren't using GDI+, which in this specific gauge is deliberately limited to one -and only one- on screen instance for performance reasons... January 8, 201115 yr Author That's not at all surprising, since those bits of the gauge aren't using GDI+, which in this specific gauge is deliberately limited to one -and only one- on screen instance for performance reasons...If I understand you correctly, you're referring to the performance draw that happens when two complicated instruments are doing something redundant (i.e., the original gauge and it's pop-up).I seem to recall that there is a parameter that can be added to blank out the original gauge, in other words, to make only one gauge functional at a time. But it may have been something that only worked with Ernie Alston's ISG gauges. https://www.mediafire.com/view/dz3buh31pti9cej/BoeingDriverSignature.jpg/file
January 8, 201115 yr Moderator That is correct. It is a given though that every programmer must make choices. Without being privy to the tradeoffs and options available though, it's difficult to second guess anyone else's decisions... ;)I'm quite familiar with the process of shutting down the display of the primary screen whenever a popup instance is active, since I've already done just that on several of my own gauge/panel system projects. However, Ed is a far better programmer that am I, so I'm certainly in no position to be a backseat driver... :( Fr. January 8, 201115 yr Question! If only one instance of the gauge is allowed at a time, could the original be removed from the Panel itself and put in a transparent window to replace it at those coords. Then use two IDs in the mouse that swap between that new window and the Pop-Up?...Don
January 9, 201115 yr Commercial Member Modifying the panel in that manner would make it to cease to function correctly. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
