January 5, 201115 yr Hi Folks, I just ordered a HP computer with AMD Phenom 1090T (6 core) and I'll install a Nvidia gtx460 gpu. Does any know if there are any tweaks or tips which might apply to that AMD processor? Thanks Howard
January 5, 201115 yr Use affinitymask 61 or 62Affinitymask 59, 55, 47 or 31 are your other options. I expect the same effect with all of them.
January 6, 201115 yr Carabou,I'm interesting if those tweaks made any noticeable difference. I also have an AMD x6 and a gtx460, but the AMD is the 1055T, just a little slower than your 1090T. Derek RogersPC Specs: Intel i7-4790K 4.6GHz : 16GB RAM : GTX 970 4GB

Is that right? :Thinking:could go to 63 affinity setting and use all 6 cores  ...I wonder if my CPU will hate me for that Derek RogersPC Specs: Intel i7-4790K 4.6GHz : 16GB RAM : GTX 970 4GB
January 6, 201115 yr IMO best tweak you could do is cancel your order and get a Sandy Bridge (2600K) Matthew S

January 7, 201115 yr Hi Niyoko - How do you like your computer set up? I use mine for FSX and I was wondering if you found you get smooth performance etc. thanks HowardHoward,I love it. I get 30+fps (I have FSX set to Unlimited, but run an external limiter) while flying and 25 avg. while at an airport with traffic in the VC, more outside of the VC. All of that still runs smooth. I run REX2, UT2, multiple pay-ware airport, and all the relevant terrain and water settings set at their optimum level, no need to max things out. LFPG and EGLL are still big FPS killers with full traffic. I really enjoy flying around Australia with Orbx's Blue Australia Scenery.I've also ran my fsx.cfg file through bjote's fsx tweaking script and that seemed to do a nice job upping the FPS significantly. I will see lover frame in from 15~20 in my Capt.Sim 767 in VC at a busy airport with a lot of traffic. I think I need to add more of the affinity to use all my cores. I hav emore tweaks I'd like to do, but over all I'm very satisfied with my experience, plus it was cheap. I bought all my PC parts at one time for $1000 give or take a dollar. Good performance for my buck, or yen in my case.Good luck Howard Derek RogersPC Specs: Intel i7-4790K 4.6GHz : 16GB RAM : GTX 970 4GB

January 7, 201115 yr Author Howard,I love it. Thank you Niyoko for the prompt reply. Sounds very encouraging, I can't wait to get started. If you like the Orbx Australia scenery, you'd be amazed by their Northern Rocky Mountain and Pacific Northwest packages - truly amazing! Howard
January 7, 201115 yr Ya so every time you see one of those fancy Intel commercials you can be dang proud you paid an extra 100.00 for it!:rolleyes:Yeah, it's not like the chip is faster for more money or anything, oh, wait. AMD CPUs are cheaper because they're slower. Once you understand this you will be firmly grounded in reality.
