January 9, 201115 yr As far as I understand it, they do!They certainly do. One team will work on the 777 whilst another works on the Dash 8. January 12, 201115 yr They certainly do. One team will work on the 777 whilst another works on the Dash 8.You're correct, several different product teams work simultaneously. Like any manufacturer/developer the "current" project likely has priority in terms of programming support, and necessarily affects development of later projects by breaking ground in various areas of the simulation. As has been said, PMDG has never once posted a deadline for release. Their site did say mid-2010 for some time, but a cursory read of their forum clearly stated that was a target for the project and in no way was it "firm". Since the process and development timing is not something that can be defined prior, it's not as if a firm estimate would be possible (barring much higher dev budgets and limitless personnel).Personally I appreciate the candor typical of PMDG's devs when posting regarding progress. It's in definite contrast to other teams' approaches. Definitely a no-winner from the developer's standpoint, but IMO the rhetorical nature of posts in the LevelD forums goes too far to the opposite. There was talk of their 757 back in '04, but any mention of the project's progress almost seven years later draws a "how dare you, we have lives outside of FSX" type of response (or just a post deletion). I imagine the PMDG staff have lives of their own as well... :( But, it's THEIR forum and their project- the 757, the NGX, and even Duke Nukem Forever will all likely be excellent products at their eventual release. Somehow I'm sure all the forum posters venting their ire will forget as soon as "now available" announcements are made! Dan Dominik "I thought you said your dog does not bite.... That's not my dog."
January 12, 201115 yr They certainly do. One team will work on the 777 whilst another works on the Dash 8.So both teams are working on the ngx right now? I agree with flight coming the window for fsx is only open for so long. My luck they will start on the 777, flight will get released and they will say it will be delayed another year while they make it compatible with it. Eric
January 12, 201115 yr So both teams are working on the ngx right now?Yes I believe I read on the PMDG forum that both teams are concentrating on the NGX to release it as soon as possible. January 12, 201115 yr I bought the Just Planes Air Canada 777-200LR DVD and watched it and let me tell you, if the PMDG team takes a really good look at the DVD and have plans to incorporate what is provided with this model then we are in for a treat. The EFB alone would be something that I would pay for in addition to the 777 as the avionics and systems are so incredibly advanced in that bird. \Robert Hamlich/
