Video tutorial for the NGX?

Featured Replies

Hello!Could PMDG include video tutorial with the NGX rather than the pdf tutorial? I've recently purchased the J41 but I've not yet understood all the systems because of some "unclear" understanding of the "text tutorial" and I don't want to learn for weeks before I'll be able to fly correctly. A video tutorial would be the best aid for a beginner. I know that there will be some video tutorial on the web but I guess if you make one for the NGX that would be great. :(

Very unlikely PMDG would do that. However Angle of Attack will.. Take a look: Link

Our MD-11 training took many hundreds of hours to produce, so we couldn't possibly provide that free I'm afraid!

But they are going to make the text version of the tutorial. Personally I would prefer making a video rather than having to type in several pages. It's easier and the customers will certainly appreciate that. I've already made a video tutorial of the Level-d 767 and put it on youtube for free. I did takes me some time too! But that's just to share with beginners that maybe are having some problems understanding the systems of the aircraft. I wish my english was better, so I would be making more free video tutorials!

Oh really. But I hope it's gonna be cheap too or a least not as much as the aircraft itself.

So they are lucky because they will have the aircraft sooner I think!

I agree.. I'm a huge fan of video tutorials for various things other than flight sim.. But they're not going to make the manuals themselves. It's the official Boeing FCOM vol. 1 and 2 and negotiating about the QRH if I remember correctly. So they're not going to make those themselves.

But I don't think that Boeing is going to have to deal with the tutorial itself? Maybe the other manuals...

I think we'll be leaving video training to AoA - it is not easy to do what they do. I think you will find the written tutorials very good though, I'm writing them myself with the help of several real world NG pilots.

Just to clarify here - the systems and performance manuals are the real life things, but we are absolutely writing a manual that covers the stuff specific to the PMDG simulation, how to actually use the options, failure system etc, as well as the written tutorial flights. Those are 100% being done by us.

Right. I misunderstood you there for a second Peace.gif No I can't imagine that either. I just still think it's easier for PMDG to just make a short manual in which you also have installation notes, settings etc. Just like the ones in the box version of the 737NG and 747. smile.gif

Can you imagine a Tutorial for the NGX writtne by Boeing itself? Or the "User Manual" written by a team of engineer by Boeing...That's should be very strange...eheheh Big%20Grin.gifCheers,

Again I could make some free good video tutorials for day 1 If I too could get the NGX sooner :(

Sounds great! Will the released AOA 737NGX Training be complete at the first day? MichaelKnittl
