Remove a view from Cycle

Featured Replies

Good afternoon- I have adjusted my gauge/window sizes to work with my Matrox 3H2Go 5840x1050 and have determined that I want to remove some of the views from the cycle when I cycle through the various views inside the VC. I can't figure out where I can add a "//" to eliminate this view and gauges and cycle. In my case, I want to ditch the 2D main panel view from all of my VC cameras. All help is appreciated!Benjamin.

The 2D view is encoded in the generic Cameras.cfglocated in the C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\ or equivalent for your OS.any definition that has[CameraDefinition.001]Title = Cockpit 2D....HeadingPanRate=45PanAcceleratorTime=0MomentumEffect = NoCycleHidden=Yesadded to it will NOT show in the key cycle, but will still be available via the view menu.Loyd

Thanks Loyd.Let me go a little further. The plane I am working with is the LevelD 767.The VC will cycle through1) First Officer2) Second Officer3) Overhead4) Pedestal5) Radio6) 2D Pop-up <-- this is the one I want to ditch.Say I wanted to ditch the 2 and 4th views also? Where can I take those out?I have gone to my Cameras.cfg and there is no 2D definition... Hmm...[CameraDefinition.001]Title = CockpitGuid = {B1386D92-4782-4682-A137-738E25D1BAB5}Description = This is the description of the cockpit viewOrigin = CockpitShowPanel = YesSnapPbhAdjust = OrdinalSnapPbhReturn = TruePanPbhAdjust = OrdinalPanPbhReturn = TrueTrack = NoneShowAxis = FrontOnlyAllowZoom = TRUEInitialZoom = 1.0SmoothZoomTime = 2.0ShowWeather = YesXyzAdjust = TRUEShowLensFlare=FALSECategory = Cockpit

Open up the aircraft.cfg file for the 767 and look for the camera definitions there

This is what I find in the aircraft.cfg. Editing cameras and panels is all new to me so I am not sure what to look for.I don't see anything to "//" here unless I am missing it. If you want to ditch the First Officer = Right Seat view as a test, comment out // the entire Camera section titled "Right Seat"(heading and all)I am assuming that you are using the "A" key to cycle the views..

Bert

Sorry about the confusion...I forgot that I edited the somewhat ambiguous [CameraDefinition.001]Title = CockpitGuid = {B1386D92-4782-4682-A137-738E25D1BAB5}Description = This is the description of the cockpit viewinto[CameraDefinition.001]Title = Cockpit 2DGuid = {B1386D92-4782-4682-A137-738E25D1BAB5}Description = This is the description of the cockpit viewdefinition 2 includes the word 'virtual'what matters is that it IS the flat 2D panel view for all aircraft regardless of what the title or description may read - the guid's are the same ( ...D1BAB5)as to the other views that you may want to eliminate - they are to be found in the aircraft.cfg because they are customized views for that aircraft. You can add the "CycleHidden=Yes" to them as wellor you can comment them out OR you can save a copy of them in a simple text file with the aircraft and then delete them from the active aircraft.cfgThe cockpit cameras SHOULD cycle in the same order that they are defined so if you'd prefer certain views 'centered' around a particular view, you might want to reorder/renumber them while you are editing.Loyd

Nailed it guys! Thanks for your help. I had to draw nice little diagram to give me a relative idea of where the relative percentages landed on my wide display. I also calculated my bezel management into the equation so now I am deadon nearly the first try.The only obstacle I am running into on some pop-up gauges is that not all of them have a border that I can use to resize. Not that I need to really resize very often but it's nice if I need to for some reason. Any ideas what I can do there to add a dragging resize border to the window? For example, the pop-up GPS window on the Carenado F33A only has a slim border to adjust the L/F direction. There is nothing to grab on the top or bottom.I have been digging around and reading here : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526956.aspxThanks again Loyd and others - big help!

Dont know if this figures here but, LD767 needs the 2D view, initialised once for the gauge sounds to play properly from VC

That sounds like a real GOOD argument against merely removing an unwanted 2D view. Thanks for the reminder.Loyd

Interesting. I will have to give it a try. I did remove the general 2D views across the board in the camera.cfg.Will pulling up a 2D gauge - say like the overhead panel satisfy this requirement? Thing is, I never went through to that 2D view in the first place whilst flying before. I would just plop down in the VC and use the click spots to pull up other gauges as needed. Benjamin.
