February 21, 201115 yr Thanks, but "FSUIPC does not "mess" with anything in it's unregistered (freeware) form. If you have problems then something else is causing it." isn't really helping very much..All I really want to know is if PMDG uses FSUIPC, like for instance QWsim, RCv4 etc.. this because of the problems I am currently experiencing.I do, certainly, hope that I am mistaken. FSUIPC was not at all suspected until I had been testing for a while..HiAs I said just trying to be helpful to the best of my knowledgewon't be trying to help you any more though, so that's OK.Steve Mckenna
February 21, 201115 yr PMDG products do not use FSUIPC in FSX to my knowledge, only FS9.FSUIPC4 does now intercept calls regarding ASE ATIS reporting in DWC mode. Now if ASE SP2 senses FSUIPC installed, what does that do?There are settings in ASE regarding use of FSUIPC4 I believe. Finally a posting on the FSUIPC forum explaining difficulties might give a reason for Pete to look into it. Also you can turn off the FSUIPC peeking into weather stuff by editing a statement into its .ini file.A search or inquiry here (after free registration) might help straighten this out:http://forum.simflight.com/forum/30-fsuipc-support-pete-dowson-modules/Also use the download links to see if there is a later FSUIPC version than your current installed version that may have fixed the problem.
February 22, 201115 yr Commercial Member No PMDG FSX product uses FSUIPC - we use SimConnect and some of our own interfacing. With that said, I'm not sure what's going on here with the claims in this thread. FSX absolutely does have massive and unrealistic wind shifts without FSUIPC installed when using default real world weather. It's bad enough to disconnect the 747 or MD-11 autopilot. Most people use registered FSUIPC to smooth the winds/temperature/pressure shifting out. You can't ever totally get rid of it, but you can largely stop the shifts that disconnect the AP or send the plane out of control. First I will fly for some time though, to seeif the windshifts should appear this time.. Though I think that the previous 10-12 flights or so I had the last time really shouldshow windshifts if there where any, I'll repeat the experiment. Starting to miss flying "for real" though :)Thanks again :)

Then I can purchase some of your product regardsless :)Hoping to disprove myself about the FSUIPC though, can't really understand why it should cause those kinds of trouble..However, the wind shifts where for me completely gone when I only had FSX (and SP2) installed, and wind changes where impressively smooth and happenedover large distances. Spent hours and days just watching that arrow and the red line on top of the screen, over both europe and USA.. And that was from previously having bad wind shifts on every flight, starting just minutes after T/O.Will give it a couple of weeks more of flying, before making up my mind about anything though..
February 22, 201115 yr Author I can confirm this as well. Immediately after installing the unregistered FSUIPC I started having wind problems with PMDG 747. It seems to come and go as I've flown a number of flights without any problems. What bothers me is that I can't uninstall it without rendering several addons useless, the VRS F/A-18 is one example. That's simple, try just moving the FSUIPC.dll out of the modules folder, and see if that has any impact. Would be interesting to hear :) It has worked for several users of ASE I've heard..Geir
February 22, 201115 yr I use PMDG MD-11 with ASE and reg. FSUIPC and have no problems at all. Well, at least not the first flight. In ASE manual there is a short intruction about how to confugure FSUIPC, ASE and FSX in order to avoid wind shifts. Matheus Mafra
