March 8, 201115 yr Also for FSX, the 2500k is just as good as the 2600k. This is because it can't utilize the hyper threading capabilities of the 2600k. So I would get the 2500k and save $100. Also, unless you really need the extra usb 3.0 ports of the deluxe, (which of course have to be supported by USB 3.0 capable devices), and the extra Ethernet port of the deluxe, I'd go with the pro or evo from ASUS and save a few bucks.I'll definetly take a look at the EVO and Pro boards, I'm going with a 2600k because I only get a chance to upgrade a minimum of every 3 or so years. This is going to be my MS Flight and Windows 8 comp also. Who knows if that'll entail HT. I'll use it for various other things too. If I could upgrade every year or even two then the 2500 would be more than sufficient. Thanks, Chuck Chuck Biggins

Also, for those new to overclocking & worried about damaging your brand new i7, just buy a good cooler (seat it properly on the cpu!!) & use the autotune feature. Manually OC'ing I was only able to squeeze a further 5% out of mine, so it does a pretty good job on its own. March 8, 201115 yr What do you think about Sabertooth?I thinks it's sleek. I see that it lacks Bluetooth which is not a big deal (Adapters are cheap), and Precision Tweaker 2. I understand its used for OCing. I was under the impression all Asus boards are good overclockers. I'm not sure what I would be missing by not having Precision Tweaker 2.BTW, who still uses PCI? Why do they still include two and three slots? Thanks, Chuck Chuck Biggins
March 8, 201115 yr BTW, who still uses PCI? Why do they still include two and three slots? Most sound cards and wireless cards still use PCI, if my memory serves me correctly. Joe Sherrill
March 8, 201115 yr I didn't realize you can still get PCI Cards. My Sound Blaster and wireless card are PCI 1x.Thanks, Chuck Chuck Biggins
March 8, 201115 yr Where is all the higher performance stuff from intel? I wouldn't upgrade because I just can't stand it that intel put a graphics processor on the chip. I'd rather have them come out with a 6 core "k" version at a decent price and then put a highend graphics card on it.Plus I won't upgrade because I have the 980x and its a beast, but the overclocking on the sandy bridge chips is ridiculously amazing. :Devil:Oh how much would a hardly used gtx480 cost these days? I kinda want to get a gtx580. Steven Penninck
