Im getting my old computer upgraded and was just wondering what you think of it and how it will handle FS2004.Here is what Im getting:New case and 250Watt power supply dual fanIntel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz 800MHz FSBAsus P4C800 Deluxe i875P P4 800FSB Skt478 DDR ATX Motherboard w/Audio, LAN, RAID/Serial ATA Retail400/533/800FSB, ATA/100, AGP8X/Pro, 4DDR DIMM, 5PCI, USB 2.0, IEEE 1394, Audio, LAN, RAID/SATA1GB Memory in kit form for faster speedATI Radion 9800 PRO 128MBWestern Digital 120GB 7200 8mb bufferWindows xp Pro

That power supply sounds awfully small. I'd get at least a 350W.

I will look into getting the 350w instead. This setup will be costing me no more than $1500, so if I can get the 350w without going over $1500 I will. :-)So how do you think this setup will handle FS2004?

I agree, that power supply is too small and it should be at the top of the list, otherwise none of the other things will make a diff it is goes out.As far as how it will run FS9, no telling, people with less systems have no problems and people with state of the art ones have problems, hope it works for ya!Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com

Joseph29,your new system should work fine in FS9. You will have to decide how to balance the FS config resource between: hardware capability and what you consider acceptable fps, screen reso, image quality, etc.Use the latest ASUS BIOS as well Intel and ATI Catalyst drivers and you should be set.Have fun!David

Nice, but as was stated before, nothing will work right(crash city) unless you get that PS up to 350W or more.

With respect, I think it's more a matter of "must" that "will". There is no way those components will perform to spec with a 250W supply. Even if it means skimping somewhere else, listen to the guys who are saying 350W+ (personally I wouldn't go with less than 400W on that system) - they are giving sound advice.Doug

I would upgrade to the E version of that board, a couple of extra bucks, but it shifts the network to the Northbridge instead of just something else fighting over the Southbridge ...Power you've been yelled at enough so I will not add to the mix. I just built a similar box with a 420W cause the 300W wasn't enough for stable use.

I talked to my friend today (the one who is putting the new computer together for me) about the power supply and the 250w power supply was a typo on his part. It's going to be a 550w power supply. :-)
