Paul, if that was your point (the channel setup) how could he be on anything other than triple channel with 12GB of RAM, so how could that be a problem? don't make excuses now and please do that test and run some benchmarks comparing triple and dual channel before assuming it's such a big deal:http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/107?vs=46if you fell in the need of putting others in place, at least make sure you get your facts straight, or much better, be kind in the first place because we all make mistakesAbout the "it didn't apply to FSX", well wrong again sir. There's something called IPC that makes some architectures faster than others at the same clocks (actually wims already clarified that and you totally missed the point). Rich's former C2Q is significantly slower than his current I7, even both at 3.8GHz

Hi Ethan: Thanks so much and to all thank you some great input and did not expect this much help, great bunch of guys J ok sounds like I will load fsx on a second separate hard drive 500gb raptor, just want to fly my 747-8 pmdg beauty stutter free J Regards, Rich
But your problem was the sim is crashing or what? LOL, sorry I'm a bit lost at this point :biggrin:If that's the case, a simple look at your event viewer could give us all the info we need to sort it out. Please do it and let us know what module(s) are crashing

I'm lost as well. I was responding to his "Where to put FSX" question, but I can't tell if he's still having crashes. Maybe a quick post from Richard will clear up whether he is still experiencing crashes. Like you said, the event viewer is a great place to start.

Sorry guys got home from work and had to spend 3 hours at the vets office the puppy swallowed a bone and he was not doing well, all is better now with him, as for crashes I still get crashes with pmdg 747 when I try to change weather or an airport to start from if I dont mess with any settings during a flight it seems ok if I was to have a pre determined weather setup and time its ok no stutters, I loaded flight environment X but do prefer REX so thats why I would like to load it again on another hard drive and see what happens, I think the initial install of REX in the wrong directory may have been the problem, new to windows 7 x64 and its differences from xp pro. :( Regards, Rich
