March 28, 201115 yr Hi Guys:Any ideas on this would be appreciated, went from a [q9650 3.2ghz overclocked to 3.8 – Gigabyte x38 775mb - 8gig of ram - gtx 580] computer all runs pretty well except pmdg 747 series so I figured I would build a new machine to put it over the top and be able to run 747 no problem, here is the new system [i7-970 6 quad overclocked to 3.8ghz - Gigabyte GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD7 LGA 1366 – 12 gig of Corsair Dominator ram – gtx580 – v-8 cooler], on a 27” high end dell lcd monitor, now after installing (REX - UT USA – UT Canada – UT Alaska – Ground environment X - pmdg 747-400 and 747-8), that is all on the new rebuild [Windows 7 x64] not other programs so here is the issue tried all the tweaks bought boosters and fsx cfg tweaks all the latest drivers and software updates and I mean everything, now the issues I have is when I try to alt enter to change window mode and yes I am using the menu not the key commands J I get a fatal error message, if I try to change the weather time of day or make a display setting I get the fatal crash menu, been doing this for a long time and thought finally I would have a machine that could finally run a pmdg plane which I luv, so any help with install ideas putting on a different hard drive ? not sure how much that helps anyway would luv to hear from someone who has found a major upgrade is not much better, thank you. I have the same problem with or without enbseries.Regards, Rich Rich Sennett

March 28, 201115 yr Commercial Member Hi,What was your old rig running in terms of operating system?Out of curiosity, exactly how much faster is FSX on your new rig compared to your old?Best regards,Robin.
March 28, 201115 yr Check your event viewer for the reason of the crashes and post the info here.Does it crash with no overclock?
March 28, 201115 yr Author Hi Guys:Yes every update done including bios flashed with zip drive good one ::( lot of people will try to do it in windows its a bit more work with zip drive but its the only correct way to do it, as for the operating system and loading my addons especially REX load about twice as fast now, I like windows 7 I do have service pack 1 made sure that was done thru updates before installing FSX, I also installed and rebooted the proper way including service pack 1 and 2 one at a time, flying and rebooting after each install, been doing this for over ten years thought I would nail it this time man the money I keep blowing, wonder if its the mother board doubt it seems great in the operating system and on the web, same in lowered overclock in fact slower, I'm open to any suggestions have to read up on Stefan's post uiautomationcore.dll you know the funny thing that land textures were never great now they are better and acceptable except for panning around and addon scenery such as the new ksfo and 747 stutters in the pan and the airport has to redraw hate that wanted that to be history in the new machine, hmm thnaks guys, be watching this post very carefully hate again to start from ground one if so would like to have a solution, I did notice got a message about fsx using 100% of recources in a popup message and yes I have shut it off to check if that helped. I also have the new titanium hd sound blaster nice card :( oh yah using nvidia inspector settings st stated here and Nicks settings also bojotes fsx builder which is a nice addition to the community, thanks for that.Regards, Rich Rich Sennett
March 28, 201115 yr Author Did the uiautomationcore.dll file addition no difference still stuttering other views are fine just outside panning something not right there, went to tak manager it said fsx was using 1,653,851k cloesest thing to it was svhost at 173,596k is that fsx usage normal ? also thining in my bios I did set the pci slot to pic-16x it was factory at just the name pci wonder if that could be it ?Thank you, Rich Rich Sennett
March 28, 201115 yr Three suggestions:1. Have you stress-tested your rig at the current bios settings? 2. Save your current bios. and then set the failsafe options and reboot. Then try fsx.3. I experienced a lot of problems with fsx and Win7 64-bit, although my crashes usually occurred after about 30 mins to 1 hour. Since applying the uiautomationcore.dll fix the problem has not manifested itself.hope it helps, jeff Jeff Hunter

March 28, 201115 yr Hi Ken:Not sure what you are asking me to do are you talking about my full name ?RichOh, don't mind me. I was being a smartass about the lack of punctuation & paragraphs making the post difficult to read. It was meant in good humor, so don't be too mad at me. March 29, 201115 yr Author Ah:My new best friend Ken lol thanks pal :( just trying to figure this out and type at the same time lol, take care .Regards, Rich Rich Sennett
March 29, 201115 yr First thing is first. Make this orderly. I'll help you if I can understand what you are trying to ask. I honestly lose interest 2 lines into that. Now if you have an overclock take it off. Put the voltage back to normal and see what happens. Run prime 95 and run coretemp to see what the averages are. Finally unhook that sound card and run the sound through the motherboard for now. That should get you started, but remember you will get many more responses if you use punctuation and order.
