April 3, 201115 yr Author OK, I think I flashed my backup bios finally, used an older ps/2 kb. I did the alt+F12 and the screen flashed, then rebooted like normal.... Hopefully that was correct LOL!Now, the GOOD NEWS!After I had reset everything to auto from the backup flash I was about to retry all my settings when I realized I had XMP Profile set to disabled!I set it to Profile1 and the SPD now changed to 1866, timings were proper 9-10-9-27, and the ram voltage set to 1.5Run OCCT = NO ERRORS!!!! YAY! (10 min test) Maybe I'm not supposed to be on XMP (but I know this specific ram supports it), but it works finally!Prime95 = No problems either (really short test though)Now, vcore tends to vary between CPU-Z, OCCT, and Gigabyte's own utility, Easy Tune 6 (which I recently updated) Which one do I trust? And should I just set it to 1.21 like dazz recommended? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
April 3, 201115 yr I've been spending all my breaks reading up on this stuff.Looking at other well-known hardware sites it seems other users are having troubles running at 1866 with these new revisioned SB boards. Though Corsair states over and over this RAM will work at 9-10-9-27 1.5v 1866mhz, I'm just not seeing it. Not sure how much time I'll have tonight to swap a stick out, or run memtest... first priority is to get that dang backup bios flashed. Also, I think I know what may have caused my initial boot to fail a few days ago. I changed the command rate to 1T, and that's when the bios reverted to the backup bios. So the PC will boot and load Windows (and FSX works) with 1866 and 2T but I can't pass stress tests. With 1333 and 2T I can pass stress tests. I hope it's a RAM issue and not a flaky board issue. I'll be out of town for a few days, so I really do appreciate everyone's help in trying to get me up and running!!!Thank you! :Hug:I have been running the Corsair Vengeance at 1866 99924 1t 1.5v since January. Works also with the new B3 P8P67Dlx. They might not be the same ones however.Mine are labeled:CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8Also I have upped the volt at 1.525 to account for the Overclock. Stable as a rock.Pierre Pierre I9 14900K 5.5 64gb ram 6800 RTX5090 Asus Strix Gaming E

April 3, 201115 yr Cool beans on the memory! The voltage reading in CPU-Z is broken again since the release of the B3 boards (this only applies to Gigabyte as far as I know). The HW Monitor tab on EasyTune6 is a great place to watch your CPU voltage and RAM voltage as it plots it and allows you to graphically see any dips or spikes. Just click on the CPU or DRAM buttons to scale the graph appropriately. If EasyTune6 isn't within 0.01 or 0.015v of what you set in the BIOS, let us know - but otherwise it should be good. Honestly it's still set at auto.
