April 7, 201115 yr I know the GLS isn't certified in real-life for Approach procedures but they are there so I might as well use them. Question is; will the aircraft give me vertical guidence on those RNAV approaches? Thanks much! April 8, 201115 yr Author Opps I meant Vertical Guidence sorry! Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
April 8, 201115 yr Commercial Member There is no such thing as FMS based vertical guidance on the J41 - it's purely advisory on the VNAV page. It's not coupled to the FMS because it was never intended or certified for that. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
April 8, 201115 yr Author Ok could I "legally" use the FMS lateral nav for RNAV approches but just use the step-down altitudes on the charts to bring me to Minimums? April 8, 201115 yr Commercial Member Essentially, as long as it has a published MDA, that would be fine. You'll note the others have LPV or LNAV/VNAV DAs.Example:http://204.108.4.16/d-tpp/1103/05100R1L.PDF Kyle Rodgers

They essentially just publish Straight -In, Circling and Alternate Min's Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
April 8, 201115 yr Commercial Member I can't answer for OZ, but up here, as long as the procedure is in the database of the certified unit, you're good to go. Kyle Rodgers
