Thanks for the clarification...and the way things have been going for me and flying lately, I'll probably be retiring to one of those as well, for lack of ever having attained one in the airline/cargo realm. I've had my eye on building one for Concorde. A pain to be sure, but I think it'd be worth it.

Nice! The Concorde, wow thats alot of work. I plan on the 737 right now, love that aircraft. I didnt know you could still find sim-gauges for the aircraft as old as the concorde, but that will be a beauty when its done.

PMDG products are in many ways right up against the limit of what can be done in the sim at the time of their development. That's called 'state of the art'. Adding any 3D objects in the MD11 VC would have had adverse effects on performance, and so a compromise is made by the devs to ensure a balance of usability and aesthetic design. Remember the LDS 767-300 was the top of the class in its day and it had barely any 3d knobs for much the same reason. Modelling techniques are always improving and that is - in part - why you're going to see a better VC in the NGX.All that aside, anyone who would turn their back on the MD11 for ANY reason is cheating themselves out of experiencing the current FSX 'top-shelf' standard. I still enjoy that airplane as much as the day I first got hold of it.

Hola mark!after i had posted this ... i dont know why but i have randomly found a nice joy in flying the MD11... i say i dont know why in a good way, because i used to not fly it. I sent an email to Aerosoft a few weeks ago asking about that and here's what they answered:

I can´t tell you for sure here as the details have not been finalized yet.But the planning is as follows: Yes we are planning a box release of the PMDG 737NGX. The release is as it stands now scheduled for approx. two months after the PMDG online release.Please keep in mind that this is just an estimate and the schedule could be pushed forward or backward.Best RegardsWilliam LennoxProduct Manager

The boxed version likely will not happen until we're reasonably sure we have the permanent final code for the product including any service packs, feature additions etc that will come after release. We don't like to have boxed versions that require the purchaser to immediately go out and download patches. We don't do our download releases that way either, if you buy the product, that installer is always fully up to date at the time you download it.

Wow, thanks alot for that... but one thing.Two months plus is a very long time, especially if you have already been waiting for two years as we have... looks like im going to go purchase that ifly 737 right now. :(Just my last hope right here: are there any other companies that could release box version sooner?Thanks for your post, very helpfull :)
