April 8, 201115 yr Hi. I wanted to fly from ZUJZ (Skysoft Simulation version recently uploaded to the AVSIM file library), but the FMC reported that this airport is not in the database. So, after a bit of Googling re. format (the indefatigable José Luis to the rescue yet again!) and getting AFCAD information with AFCAD2 , I added these lines to the file wpNavAPT.txt:HUANGLONG ZUJZ02 11312017 32.839322 103.677260108.7001711311HUANGLONG ZUJZ20 11312197 32.868452 103.687185108.3019711311and this to the airports.dat file:ZUJZ 32.853888 103.682222.. restarted FS9 and my PMDG 737NG flight, and now the airport is there in the FMC. But I am not sure what I now need to add to the wpnavaid.txt & wpNavRTE.txt files, as I can't work out the format. The Nav data for ZUJZ is:Rwy 02 LOC+GP+DME Ident: IHU 108.70 at 016 degrees ILS/DME 02Rwy 20 LOC+GP+DME Ident: IJU 108.30 at 196 degrees ILS/DME 20 VOR+DME Ident: JZH 117.60 JIUZHAII wonder if anyone is able to help me complete the setup for this airport: maybe even give me the lines I need to add (and explain a little the format)? Also, apart from updating the above-mentioned files, is there anything else I need to do so that ZUJZ is 'fully installed' into FS9? (I have no SID/STARS, but that's OK, as long as I can programme the FMC to fly me from and to the airport runways). Thanks in advance for any help here,Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)

April 8, 201115 yr Author Oddly though, when I add the airport to the first page of the FMC, it recognises the airport, but when I try to add the runway - 02 or 20, it comes back with 'not in database'. I can live without having the gates recognised, but I'd like to have the runways there in the FMC. Any ideas what is still amiss? Thanks again,Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
April 8, 201115 yr Did you create the appropriate SIDSTAR file? It has a runway section in it too. Eric Vander Pilot and Controller Boston Virtual ATC KATL - The plural form of cow. KORD - Something you put in a power socket. UNIT - Something of measure My 747 Fuel Calculator
April 8, 201115 yr Eric is correct, you need a sidstar file for each airport. It will need FIXES, RNWS and APPROACHES sections even if they are all blank except the RNWS section. See Terry Yingling's tutorial at planepath.com for assist on how to create/modify these. There's no need to modify wpNavFIX or wpNavRTE files, they have nothing to do with airports but do deal with fixes and routes. Dan Downs KCRP
April 9, 201115 yr Author No, as I say, I didn't add SID/STARs - not sure how to configure the txt file, but will look at the pages you suggest.Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
April 9, 201115 yr Author Well I can't find any SID/STARs for ZUJZ or ZUBD, and I don't see that I am going to be able to hand-write one either (too complex - I'd have to calculate all the FIX data myself???). Have to live with what I've got for now..Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
April 9, 201115 yr No, if you only want the runways you don't need to do a ton of work. Just create a txt file titled with the ICAO code of the airport. Then add the text below, FIXESENDFIXESRNWSENDRNWSAPPROACHESENDAPPROACHESGATESENDGATES Inside the RNWS section add the runway numbers (sorted by number) in the form "RNW <number>" Eric Vander Pilot and Controller Boston Virtual ATC KATL - The plural form of cow. April 9, 201115 yr Author Thanks for the reply - in fact it was just unfortunate that I had opened some very complex examples. I did find some much simpler versions and used them as a template. Then I came back here, and found you'd added this reply...However, I am still having problems. This is the text (as ZUJZ.txt) that I added to the PMDG/SIDSTARS folder:-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------// ZUJZ - HUANGLONGFIXESFIX CIT LATLON N 32 51.23 E 103 40.93ENDFIXESRNWSRNW 02RNW 20ENDRNWSSIDSENDSIDSSTARSENDSTARSAPPROACHESAPPROACH ILS02 FIX CIT RNW 02 TRK 016 UNTIL 1500 FIX CIT 2500APPROACH ILS20 FIX CIT RNW 20 TRK 196 UNTIL 1500 FIX CIT 2500ENDAPPROACHES-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------No problems on the POS INIT page, but when I enter the flightplan on the RTE page (ZUJZZUBD001) I get a message on the scratchpad:ZUJZ err: 02 rwy unknownIf I clear that and enter the runways manually 02, or 20, I still get 'Not in Database'.. Not quite there yet, am I? Any ideas what I am still doing wrong?I should say that I don't know what the 'CIT' means in "FIX CIT RNW"; nor what to put here "UNTIL 1500 FIX CIT 2500" - I just had to leave them as they are as I am not sure what the numbers represent, so don't know what values to enter for ZUJZ. Is that the source of the errors? Thanks!Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
April 11, 201115 yr Author Any ideas folks? I seem to be so near, yet so far! Thanks,M Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
April 11, 201115 yr The wpNavAPT.txt file must have a record for each runway; in other words, when the program reads that there is a RNW 02 in the sidstar file it goes to the wpNAVAPT.txt file and gets the record for that runway. If the record is missing you get the 'Not in Database' error.Make sure your added entries in the APT file don't use tab characters, all white space has to be space characters. Position (column) is important. Dan Downs KCRP
April 12, 201115 yr Author Thanks Dan - the spaces were indeed tabs. Now I have corrected this, the runways come up fine in the FMC.Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
