April 10, 201115 yr All,I noticed after the pre-start check above the line, the FO flips the power from EXT to BATT AMP. I always have to flip it back manually to get the meters to register power flow. (see screen shots). Also, on take off, I always get a spoiler warning and have to left click and push them down in the VC before the warning subsides. Are these both normal? Am I missing something somewhere?

May 9, 201115 yr HiThe switch and the gauges are only used to check and monitor voltage / frequency / current of onboard electrical systems so the position of the switch really isn't critical. The SOPs vary company to company, but in general at that point of the preparation you would be soon coming off external power anyway, so might as well monitor the battery, APU gen or engine driven generators instead.
