April 12, 201115 yr If you could stretch your budget some, I can really recommend the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System (http://saitek.com/uk/prod/yoke.html). You can add an extra quad if you want more axis to play with. And of course rudder pedals. And I agree with Mike, moving from joystick to yoke was a quantum leap towards reality... +1. The Saitek yoke, throttles and rudder pedals make a very realistic experience. The Saitek Switch panel is also very good. Trust me, if you don't want to build a $80 000 737 cockpit, this is a fabulous choice. Thanks, Kevin L
April 12, 201115 yr I like that, but the throttle console has only three of the four sticks needed for a 747. If you use it for the 737, what is the 3rd stick used for?You can change it to what you want. But in the real world, the black lever is throttle, the blue is feather and the red is mixture. Thanks
April 12, 201115 yr I hate the Saitek one solely because of the elevator stickiness. I know some people really like theirs, it can be a *huge* problem.
April 12, 201115 yr I've added additional throttle console (they fit nicely next to each other without gap). The left most lever is my spoiler, next 4 levers are the throttles and the last on the right is the flaps selector (ok, it doesn't have detent for each flap setting but after a while you get used to it).Works like charm with FSX...The only problem is the yoke. The elevator axis is sticky (changed three (3!) units so far). Did some modifications (releasing spring tensions, greasing with different lubricants, bushings cutting, etc), I'm still not happy. And now that I have the amazing product from Thrustmaster - HOTAS Warthog, I don't even want to look at the cheap Saitek plastic anymore. I still don't know what I am gonna do once the NGX comes out.... +1 on Thrustmaster. I have the HOTAS Cougar myself and use it for my F/A-18 Hornet sim. Thrustmaster is in a class of it's own. But for civil a/c and airliners the yoke adds to the realism IMO. And my Saitek is pretty smooth in all axis.If you're looking for a good yoke you might want to consider this: http://www.flypfc.co...n_id=29&dn_id=2This is very close to the real thing from what I heard, and smooth as silk. A bit pricey, though... Peter Vestergren
April 13, 201115 yr I hate the Saitek one solely because of the elevator stickiness. I know some people really like theirs, it can be a *huge* problem.I'm using heavy duty bearing grease, and it's working pretty well. No more stickiness, but the cheap plastic looks crap...Ben
April 13, 201115 yr I hate the Saitek one solely because of the elevator stickiness. I know some people really like theirs, it can be a *huge* problem.+1Also Saitek seems to like putting in "notches" in all their throttles. The saitek "quadrant" has them which makes it harder to taxi for me and the same is true for my Saitek X52 Pro. I love the joystick, but I've gone back to my CH Yoke for FSX, I live with the weak deadzone of the CH, but I can't stand the sticky elevator center of the Saitek. It works really well takes that wooded feel out of your flying you should be able to pick up second hand joysticks on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Microsoft-Sidewinder-Force-Feedback-2-USB-Joystick-AUS-/160389875406?pt=AU_Input_Peripherals&hash=item2557fb46ce Paul sheather PC win7 64bit i7 960 oc 3.80 gtx 470x2 SLI 8gig ram PMDG MD11 737NG 747-400 747-800 JS41 B1900 CS 727 757 767 C130 AEROSOFT A320-1 TWIN OTTER FSD PORTER SENECA WARBIRDSIM P51B CARENADO C208 C206 CERA BELL212 FLIGHT1 ATR Active sky ASA
