May 20, 201115 yr Hey folks, first some data about my system:Windows 7 Home Premium 64bitIntel Core i7 2600k (overclocked to 4,2GHz)8GB DDR3 RAMGigabyte GeForce GTX470 Super Overclock EditionAnd I just don't get FSX working properly on this system :( I tried a lot of tweaks (e.g. the ones of Bojote) but FSX isn't running smooth. In Amsterdam (Aerosoft Mega Airport) and the Airbus X in the VC with clear sky I get about 5-8 fps. Seems a little bit low :( I know that other people with a way slower system are getting much higher frames. Maybe you could offer me your help (maybe some experts can contact me to help me configuring my system - I would really appreciate that)Thanks so much...greetings from rainy GermanyPs.: Sorry for opening a new thread but I'm really so desperate :D And excuse my rather bad english :( Greetings from Germany - Daniel Danhammer
May 20, 201115 yr Ok, stop. Start over. Get rid of all those tweaks. The only tweak you start with is highmemfix=1Did you use Nick N's suggested setup? http://www.simforums.com/forums/setting-up-fsx-and-how-to-tune-it_topic29041.htmlUse nvidia Inspector to setup an FSX profile (also in Nick's guide)Make sure you have SP2 or Acceleration installed. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

May 20, 201115 yr Author Ok...first of all thanks :)Will try that and report back ;) I think, FSX has to work fluently on my system, don't you think so, too? :D Greetings from Germany - Daniel Danhammer
May 20, 201115 yr Your system should handle FSX with no problems at all. Something is definitely wrong. Nick Running
May 20, 201115 yr Author Maybe something went wrong, when I installed FSX. I'll do a complete reinstall now (by using Nick N's installation method)... Greetings from Germany - Daniel Danhammer

May 20, 201115 yr Author I think the overclocking isn't the problem, since it was existing before I overclocked my i7 :) But I'm doing a complete reinstall right now and then I will report back with more information about settings.... Greetings from Germany - Daniel Danhammer

May 20, 201115 yr I have a slightly lower performance system and I have no really big issues. I run smoothly most of the time.I followed Nick's setup routine, I have Bojote's tweaks, then I modified some of those to my preferences.[bufferpools]PoolSize=0TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=2048[TERRAIN]AUTOGEN_DENSITY=2DETAIL_TEXTURE=1LOD_RADIUS=8.00000 very highMy system will bog down some when I enter high urban areas, so I turn down autogen, lower water slider to help out some. May 27, 201115 yr Author Ok I reinstalled FSX now and the only tweak I use right now is HIGHMEMFIX=1. My framerate is rather good (I would say an average of about 160FPS) but its jumping the whole time between 10 and about 250FPS, which makes the FS very laggy...so - what should I do next? Greetings from Germany - Daniel Danhammer
May 27, 201115 yr Ok...first of all thanks :)Will try that and report back ;) I think, FSX has to work fluently on my system, don't you think so, too? :DBe aware that AS Amsterdam has big frames-problem. It's something Aerosoft doesn't directly admin, but the problem IS there, that's a fact. Just for the info. Also if the frames are jumping from 20 to 250 and back, then you have a problem in your system. You should start by NOT running FSX, running something like process explorer and process monitor, to see what is causing the CPU go high (if that's really happening). You should test without any addon scenery, basically on default airport with default aircraft, and see how FPS behaves. It should keep at high number, going little bit down and up (say maybe 5-10%).
May 27, 201115 yr Author Thanks for replying ;) I got the results above with the default flight. My CPU isn't really going high, so I have no clue what the problem is :( Greetings from Germany - Daniel Danhammer
