June 1, 201115 yr Does the card include the support bracket holding the card up in the pictures? :Big Grin: Is a discount coupon included for the additional mains power meter that needs to be installed by the local utility?5. ROG MARS II graphics card Say they: "dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580" and "19-Phase Super Alloy Power technology"Say I: Finally a 0.5 kW video card! June 1, 201115 yr Author The water cool version will include 50' of 2" pipe to connect this baby directly to the pool....:Whew: Seriously, I can't wait to see what kind of numbers one will get after benchmarking with it, 2 of these in SLI and you'll need a wall of lead between you and the PC to keep your DNA from mutating.... and they are asking what's the cause of global warming.....:Nerd:

June 1, 201115 yr What is the advantage of this card over having two 580s in SLI?It's triple height card meaning it would make installing a second one impossible(im my case anyway). Are the two cards sharing one PCIE slot, would that be slower than having two cards in two slots(I don't know I am asking). Also they mention that it has 3gb of Vram, is that shared b/w the cards meaning 1.5 for each?I admit it looks "cool" but I don't know why someone wouldn't just get two 580. Maybe if you didn't have an SLI MOBO, but honestly anyone considering this thing should probably have that already.

Maybe if you didn't have an SLI MOBO, but honestly anyone considering this thing should probably have that already. This card is 2 GTX 580 all together (SLI), it does cover 3 slots but 2 GTX 580 will cover 4 slot. You'll need 4 x 8 pin cable for 2 x GTX 580 in SLI, with this one you need only (lol) 3 x 8 pin cables. The card share 3GB so it's 1.5 for each. If you want 3GB each you have to buy one of these x 2 for SLI.... http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130655Also, this card is overclocked at 816MHz as oppose to the Evga 590 seeing here at only 630MHz and can't overclock without frying it http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130630Two GTX 580 in SLI is not a bad deal, it all depend of what you need and what your case can take, this would be a good deal for me as I already have 2 cards and one is a 3 slot card (GTX 480 AMP).That's a big a$s card, not as big as the Asus but still....
June 1, 201115 yr Okay I can see some of those points, but my SLI gtx 580s are at 880 without an overvolt, some guy on here has them at 900 with a voltage bump(mine spazz out at 900 so 880 is my max).I don't see an SLI slot on that beast so i don't think you can triple or quad SLI the cards(crazy thought I know, but we are talking about super-enthusiast hardware here so it's probably is worth a mention).I am interested in the PCI bus width tho' I made it a point to buy a gigabyte board with two PCIE 16 slots, legitimately at 16, not downclocked to 8 when you add a second card. Do these share a single slot, how does that affect throughput to the GPUs(Again this is only worth talking about because this is super-enthusiast hardware)? And finally one of the advantages to SLI in the Nvidia cards is NVsurround, the traditional teaching is that FSX does not use alot of VRAM, but now with all my other hardware up to snuff I am finding myself running out of VRAM using >1.5 GB. This happens when you have an addon smash-up (FlightBeam KSFO + Aerosoft San Francisco + McPhat repaint + Photoscenery) everything runs at 24 fps until you hit the VRAM ceiling and then you have to pull textures from system ram. So I think in this instance the card is hobbled by it's low VRAM, as mine are. It's a cool card and all, but I think that they missed the chance to really unleash the beast.
