July 2, 201114 yr Commercial Member I'm thinking about using SBRJ for an NGX advanced tutorial and I'm wondering if we have anyone here with experience on the 800 SFP at the airport... I'd like to ask some questions about the restrictions and procedures used in taking off from such a short runway if anyone's out there. PM me through the forum or email me at [email protected]. Thanks! Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 2, 201114 yr - are you thinking of doing a video tutorial?Less time to make for sure ;) Peter Osborn
July 2, 201114 yr Author Commercial Member There is no way a well produced video tutorial (which is the only way we'd do it) would take less time to make than a written one... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 2, 201114 yr There's a guy here on the forum, his name is Rafael something (forgot his last name). He is a NG Captain for GOL and surely have experience there. I remember of having spoken to him a while ago. I'll see if I can find him again. You have no idea of how happy I got after reading that you're intending to do a tutorial flight into SBRJ and with GOL's livery, my favorite airline! Don't forget to try AFONSOS 1 or 2 arrival so I can see the NGX flying right above my house !EDIT:I found him! This is his profile. Really hope he's available for some questions. If you need more people, tell me and I can also try to find someone in the Brazillian Division of IVAO and at VPA. We have a lot of real pilots there, including dozens from Brazil. Someone's got to have flown an -800 into or out of SBRJ. I also have an old copy of GOL's SOP. It has an 11-page-long chapter explaining how operations are performed, which are the restrictions on the airport and to the aircraft, as well as a lot of other stuff. It gives general informations about operations in the airfield, departure, arrival, approach and missed approach informations. Maybe I can answer some of your questions while an actual pilot doesn't contact you.I REALLY want you to do this tutorial, Ryan. I'll do anything within my reach to help you finding someone, even if I have to go to the airport and personally ask a pilot to talk to you. Matheus Mafra
July 2, 201114 yr There is no way a well produced video tutorial (which is the only way we'd do it) would take less time to make than a written one...Ok-theres no way I could agrue that. perhaps it might be more apprpriate since it is such a unique approach, visually too!It would certainly be more realistic. Voice-over instead of ALL the typing might prove to be a little more fun and less tedious. Now I know you guys don't just do things- you do things in the best way possible. I cant think of anyway a written tutorial is better than SEEING it in action, step by step, showing the visual cues that the real pilots would use.Not to metnion the obvious marketing advantages. July 2, 201114 yr A good friend of mine is a Gol Co-pilot. I´ll try to reach him tomorrow and let you know Ryan. Don't forget to try AFONSOS 1 or 2 arrival so I can see the NGX flying right above my house !To be fair, I only said I'm *thinking* about doing it for an advanced tutorial - this would happen after release, I already have the ones coming with the plane written. Please don't take this to mean that I'm guaranteeing I'll do this - I'm merely looking into the possibility right now. I also cannot actually use any airline liveries in an official tutorial for legal reasons so it'll be the PMDG House livery - you're welcome to use whatever you want on your own though. Thanks for the info and help everyone! I could clearly understand from your first post that we have no guarantee on that yet and I also had in mind that an advanced tutorial would be likely to come only after release just like it did with the MD-11. It's just the excitment, you know? :( There aren't many airplane developers who have done a tutorial here, if not any at all. Matheus Mafra
November 6, 201114 yr My favorite flight is from Sao Paolo SBGR to SBRJ. All the approach plates are available on-line. I have them all. I remember sitting on Sugar Loaf Mountain last year and watching planes make this approach. I had to try it on my LD767 and now my 737NGX. I also do Rio Intl Airport Galeao to SBRJ (a short 2 minute flight) but fun. I love Rio! Paul Gugliotta
November 6, 201114 yr Well, I'm not a real pilot and not an expert about SDU, but this can maybe help somehow:All the Brazilian Charts (for example SBRJ has new charts)http://www.aisweb.aer.mil.br/SOP Gol Linhas Ãereashttp://www.4shared.com/document/YL9w21mq/SOP_B737_Gol_Linhas_Areas.html(from page 259 to page 265)
November 7, 201114 yr Hi, since there seems to be some people from brasil here, maybe they can help me out. even though i mostly fly in europe (sorry but i live there ;D )since i discovered the awesome freeware site of Terra Brasilis i do a lot of routes "down there". I installed most of the freeware airports and really enjoy them, especially the recently released SBSP. But to make the Brasil-Experience complete there is still a good scenery of Santo Dumont SBRJ missing. I read somewhere that it is also in development, but i haven't found any updates on that, since i don't speak portugese. Does anybody know anything about that? Thanks in advance! Regards, Chris Volle i7700k @ 4,7, 32gb ram, Win10, MSI GTX1070.
November 7, 201114 yr Hey Chris check this scenery out by tropical sim: http://tropicalsim.com/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=14They also have scenery available for Rio's international airport. Not as much fun though. Think SBRJ = NGX + carrier trap. Cheers,Victor M. Lima
