Hi Guys:Need a little help, I was wondering if a usb 9" touchscreen for my fmc inputs would hit my fps also will I be able to fly in full screen with the fmc docked on the touchscreen monitor, thank you for the help.

There are quite a few posts here on the forum about touchscreen monitors, I suggest you do some more research before buying a USB one, they tend to be a bit hit and miss. I'd personally only recommend the variety that plug into a VGA/DVI port.

Hi Andy:Thanks buddy, did a search read thru a bunch of posts but not finding the answer I am looking for, laso youtube, I have the extra slot on video card back some years ago adding a second monitor I noticed a hit on fps which I do not want to live with, I was thinking the usb might be a great way of not putting any more effort on my video card and for such a small screen maybe it would be better as it is only for fmc inputs, anymore thoughts ?Regards, Rich

What hardware do you have now? Specifically the CPU and is it overclocked? And what Graphics card are you using now?

i am in the same boat, (wanting a touchscreen for the fmc) but after getting some answers here, i went with a 15" touchscreen with a dsub port, i am still awaiting delivery, will let you know how it goes.this is my humble setup at the moment.http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/30/snc00097o.jpg/

In my experience, in general, undocked 2D panels on additional monitors have very, very little impact on FPS. Having said that, some addons have certain panels that have noticeably impacted FPS, but I recall only one where the FMC (CDU) was the culprit. I have quite a number of CDU or MCDU equipped addons.A touchscreen for the CDU is a delight to use, by the way, and well worth employing in your setup.

well i have my touchscreen monitor here but cannot use the touchscreen facility yet as i need to get another adaptor, a usb to rs232 adaptor!

just got my mimo 10" looks great but when I undock ilfy fmc to it sometimes some of the graphics are not showing and when I push the fmc buttons they beep but do nothing anyone have any ideas on this its a usb unit, thank you.Rich

Andy its working but when you press buttons nothing happens but in windows it works fine must be an fxs issue ?Rich
