July 9, 201114 yr I have a all-in one liquid cooling system that is pretty much exactly like an h70. I currently only have one fan, and I have it pulling air from the radiator and blowing it outside of the case. Would I benefit by making this fan push air through the radiator instead of pulling it? If so, what would be better, pushing air from the inside of the case or from the outside? Alfredo Terrero
July 9, 201114 yr Push vs Pull:If it's a thicker radiator like the H70, you really want a fan on each side in push/pull. With a thinner radiator, I got marginally better results with a fan in pull than I did in push.Exhaust vs Intake:Try both and see. I prefer exhaust as I don't like all that hot air coming into my case. However, my current case has a 200mm up top which should be more than capable of exhausting the incoming hot air and I wanted my case in positive pressure to minimize dust, so I currently have mine set up to intake. July 9, 201114 yr Author Okay thanks for the reply. Ironically, I just realized that my radiator has a very minuscule leak, but a leak nonetheless. I just picked up a coolermaster hyper 212. Is push better with this cooler or pull? Alfredo Terrero

July 10, 201114 yr Author What brand was it?!It was a cheap one. I don't know if you have heard of cyberpowerpc? They let you customize your rig, so I chose their generic liquid cooling system. I think it is called xtremegear. But it was kind of my fault because as I was changing the fan to change into a push configuration, I was putting the screw in slightly sideways and I pretty much forced it through the radiator's mesh area. Anyways, I am very satisfied with the coolermaster hyper 212. I only have the fan it comes with. Do you have any recommendations on any fan brands that I can add to the 212 (I'm very pleased with temps, with a push only configuration, but I want to add another fan). Alfredo Terrero
July 10, 201114 yr Yeah, you have to be really careful with screwing fans onto radiators and make extra sure the screws aren't too long either. As for fans, I couldn't really tell you. I know my Gentle Typhoon AP-15's are great for radiator applications because of their high pressure, but they're hard to find, expensive, and probably not the best choice for air cooling anyway. They are pretty good but thier PSU failed within a week of purchase. It was a 850w one but was a budget PSU. I replaced it myself as It was easy to swap the 600w OCZ PSU from my old PC.I think from now on I will self built though, its nothing personal Its just nice to know exactly whats going into the system. I too have decided too build my own system's from now on because when I moved all my hardware onto my new motherboard, I also had instal a new psu (the one I currently have), and the HDD and optical drive. Once I rebuilt my system, I found out that building a pc is pretty easy and a very rewarding thing to do.Yate Loon - if you can find it!http://hardforum.com...d.php?t=1497337 Okay I will check those out. July 10, 201114 yr I have my HD70 set up for intake. I tried it both ways. On my ANTEC 900, I have a 200mm exhaust fan on top which takes care of the heat from the HD70. The two front fans are also intake so there is plenty of cool air coming in.I replaced the HD70 stock Corsair 3 pin fans with Scythe KAMA-FLEX PWM 120mm fans. Using them with the Gelid Solutions PWM Y-cable, I can run both fans off the mobo CPU fan header. Cuts way down on the noise and when needed, I'm still getting over 2000 rpm from each fan. Joe Brown

Hopefully I will be able to reduce temps by a relatively large amount. Alfredo Terrero
July 11, 201114 yr Author I just got the second fan. Under prime 95, the hottest core (number 3) sometime hits 70, but most of the time, along with the other cores, the temps are in the low to mid sixties. Push and pull configuration is worth it in my opinion. Alfredo Terrero

I put the spare 120 fan into the case as case is old so now its like a hotrod haha.I had to mod front of chassis to fit it. It works well. I found if I leave the side of the case off it keeps the temps down a little lower. Using the Asus stress test on my 2500k temps are around 57C @ 4.4-4.5 Keeping a record as I push a little harder. Hope this helps. As I said, temps are in mid 60's running prime with hyperthreading on (with the third core occasionally hiring 70). I haven't run prime yet, but with intel burn test, hyperthreading off gives me about 5 degrees less than with ht on. I highly recommend this cooler as it has a great price/performance ratio.
