yokes animated to move in auto- flight?

Featured Replies

dear pmdg, while flying your excellent j41, which has become even more enjoyable with the release of LINDA, two questions came to my mind. I hope some of you could perhaps answer them:1.i noticed that, when changing heading (making a turn with the autopilot) the yokes aren't animated to follow the turn. come to think of it, i don' t think i've ever seen that animated in fsx, will your 737 ngx feature this animation ? (assuming the real NG behaves like that but correct me if i'm wrong)2.the j41 is excellent. it's the best photo realistic virtual VC out there i believe.if the 737 NGX's VC is going to be even better, then all of us would be in fsx heaven but, in terms of realism, is the j41 not to be compared wiht the NGX?... or is the J41 as real as it can get, but will the NGX be a more sophisticated simulation simply because the NGX is in real life a more complex machine than the j41?I welcome the NGX if it will be all that you promised, At the same time i do not want to find out in a while that all your other addons will have become obsolete because they lack thr realism of your NGX.so, please reassure me that your excellent j41 is as real as it can get and you couod not have done more to it in terms of flight characteristics.

The yokes and thrust levers in the MD-11 and 744 are animated to move while following A/P commands. The JS41's yokes should do the same thing.

Actually the J41's don't because we didn't program a completely custom autopilot for it - that's part of why the J41 doesn't cost as much as the other planes. It's just something we have to live with, sorry.

Wait but you did program a new autopilot for the NGX right? I believe I recall you said that....? If not, I don't really care, it would just be some eye candy Big%20Grin.gif.Regards

Best regards, happy flying,

Of course they did. They wouldnt be running into problems with LNAV and VNAV if they didnt.

The NGX is 100% custom, yes. Brand new.The J41's AP even in real life just isn't complicated enough to warrant it - it's a very simple airplane at the core. No coupled VNAV, advanced RNP stuff etc...

Of course, i forgot about the md11 which does have this animated. But i hope the ngx will have a more sophisticated animation of the yoke and throttles in terms of smoothness of movement (the default MS 737 does a very nice job with the auto-throttles)As for the j41, i take it then that its flight characteristics are as close to authentic as you could have done it (including those ruthless engines) but a simpler plane means an easier job in simulation, hence the lower price.

Both are extremely smooth - you will love it.
