Help me Understand

Just curious are you using REX and water textures?
Yes, I am using REX !
@Glenn Harrall:I agree, but the OP specifically wanted more FPS, so that´s why he got that answer!wink.gifOP logic: More FPS, better FSXThis is not how it works, and he will eventually know that, later perhaps, after more headaches and complaining...
Thanks, but no thanks... Your help is very GY ! :( Your name is not Chris, is it ?
I understand what the "man" is syaing; however, that is pointless. Of, course if I unlock the frames, it will shoot up to all diffiderent fps , to 100fps, but not better performance. The idea to have the frame limiter is to get a better performance by locking the frames. However, it seems to me you're not reading (and understanding) my initial post (questions).
I understand your question. You want to know why you don't get higher fps with a higher clock. You have recieved many good answers from folks who know how the sim works. Why ask a question if you are not going to listen and maybe even try a few of their ideas.Bob

i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.

Hmmmph.. How would one get a 5.1 gig proc speed when using "a defective RAM"? :(

What are your complete FSX and Nvidia Inspector / Nvidia Control Panel settings Johnny? If you don't get a performance boost going from 3.4 to 5.1 GHz maybe some of your settings are too demanding on your graphics card: water, antialiasing, resolution...As for the water movement with Jesús' water constants, that's how it's meant to be. He tuned down the animations at high altitude for realism

Guessing he had a 4x1 RAM setup but one went south so he pulled it.Agree that getting only 10 fps in dense scenery with a 51x 2600k means system is not sorted. For the price getting a 2x4 RAM pair seems like a reasonable approach, though maybe first try vanilla fsx.cfg without shader or emb tweaks, just to baseline things.scott s..

I use unlimited in heavy city areas and then once I get out of town, if I start to get jitters and pops, I back it down to 30fps's+/-. Smooths out nicely. understand that if you do that your sim will reload the scenery.
