July 19, 201114 yr Here's something that's bothering me... I OC my i7 2600K from 3.50--> 5.10Ghz and there is no difference in FPS-- no increase. It still remains (with the frame limiter) at 30fps down to 10fps in very dense locations. This using any add-on a/c out there. so, my question is why even at a higher clock speed there is not better fps? Better than 10fps. In fact there is no increase nor better performance at any clock speed higher than 3.50ghz. confused :( Oh, and one more thing...I installed ******* water "WaterConstants.Xml" and now there is no water movement.--- i7 2600LK--- Asus P867Delux--- 3 Gigs of RAM 7-7-7-20 @1600--- FSX Settings at slightly over medium--- All of Nick's and ******* recommendations--- Nvidia 580X Card--- Windows 7 64bit--- Temps remain around 60 degrees C' (water cooled)--- And all the 9 yards
July 19, 201114 yr Maybe I´m stupid, and maybe this is a stupid question, but why oh why lock the frames and then complain about low FPS?!Unlock them and see what happens...Wow! 5.10 Ghz, is it stable?Bojotes Shaders:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/283701-bojotes-shader-30-mod-for-fsx/page__st__700
July 19, 201114 yr 3GB of memory? 4GB or 8GB would make more sense with this board, since it is a dual-channel architecture. With 3GB installed, 1GB would be running in single-channel mode. I know they are locked at 30; however, having my clock speed at 5.10 gives the same performance as in 3.50ghz...I would expect that at 5.10 the performance would be better..let's say instead on getting 10 fps, it shpuld go up near 30fps...isn't that the logic? The more horse-power, the more power ?

Try both with the FSX limiter and the external limiter and see whatworks better for you. Note that fps and "smoothness" do not go handin hand! Bert
July 19, 201114 yr Like the man said, set frames to unlimited and see what happens.BobI understand what the "man" is syaing; however, that is pointless. Of, course if I unlock the frames, it will shoot up to all diffiderent fps , to 100fps, but not better performance. The idea to have the frame limiter is to get a better performance by locking the frames. However, it seems to me you're not reading (and understanding) my initial post (questions).
July 19, 201114 yr @Glenn Harrall:I agree, but the OP specifically wanted more FPS, so that´s why he got that answer!OP logic: More FPS, better FSXThis is not how it works, and he will eventually know that, later perhaps, after more headaches and complaining...

The more horse-power, the more power ?You STILL have the problem. I believe - someone correct me if I'm wrong - but the 2600K uses either 4gig, 8 gig, 12 gig in those multiples. 6 gig is not an option, therefore it's chewing at it's memory, rather than chewing at your flying. I run 4.8 gig with 8 gig of ram and she flies with FSX mostly at max. July 19, 201114 yr Sounds so sad when you spend so much and get nothing, suggest move the current fsx.cfg and start fsx (it will recreate the fsx.cfg), if you set fps to unlimited expect frames to go & down , or use the external limiter to 30 and fsx to unlimited.Check my sig, after bojote's tweak I am pulling 25-39 fps in dense areas it does go down to 15 and jumps back up ,everything to max except water and traffic, don't use bloom it kills.Check for other programs running in the background , better set the affinity on them so that core 0 is used mostly by fsx.Try it & let us know. Hope it works.I expect at least one to pull 27fps on your rig.Hey what resolution r u using ? try tweaking the gfx card too, Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
