July 26, 201114 yr Hi,Normally when I taxi with any of my aircraft I keep the speed at 15kts and autothrottle it till I'm set to take off on the runway. However on this iFly 737 model the lowest speed is 100kts whicch is way beyong the taxi speed so whenever I try to control the speed it either goes to high or I stop in the middle of taxiing. Is there a more efficient way to taxi keeping the speed with this aircraft model?Thank You

July 26, 201114 yr Author You dont taxi with the auto throttle on 'any' aircraft. No You don't get my point because the speed is set at 100kts and above on any iFly 737 jets and I'm asking on how to keep the speed to about 15kts in the most efficient way without autothrottle?

Idle thrust is all that is required to taxi at most weights, a slight increase of thrust (breakaway thrust) is normally required to get rolling then continue on idle. And what do you mean by the speed is set to 100kts? Are you talking about the MCP panel? That has nothing to do with the speed you taxi with.It has been a while since I flew Boeings but MCP speed should be set to V2+20 Rob Prest

July 26, 201114 yr Commercial Member The ground speed is shown on the bottom left of the PFD...DJCorrect, bottom left!OP - I'm not sure why you need to use this to taxi the IFLY 737 or any other complex addon but this will control the taxi speed for you (search the file library) atngau12.zip Rob Prest
July 26, 201114 yr Is there anyway I can just leave the speed on a specific speed then let the aircraft do it like autothrottle but any others because this will cause too much hastle whilst communicating with ATC.Try setting specific power that would keep the aircraft going with a constant speed. But that's difficult and the usual way of taxiing is that you advance throttles to make the airplane moving and then idle and as FLEX1978 said while taxiing advance throttles from time to time to keep the plane moving.

I consider it has hardcore simming. Dave Taylor

July 27, 201114 yr Thanks this really helped :DWHAt are you wanting to know???? NO airliners has an autothrottle for taxiing!! Period. Run you throttles up to 30 % or so and when you get to the taxi speed you want return them to idle. It will taxi at that speed until you start turning or something. Then just repeat the process.
July 27, 201114 yr Hey everybody, IMO no matter how real FS is, it's still a game. Some of us "hardcore simmers" want to be "as real as it gets" but some want to enjoy it with their own styles. And coming back to this topic, it's the "taxi style".My own style is to use the SIM1.dll modification file so that the idle power will be little bit higher than the default one, some like it, some don't, but who cares. My FS,my style :biggrin:In fact, I did use the taxi gauge which allow me to set the taxi speed some years years ago - when I was new to FS because taxiing and maintaining speed was quite hard to me at that time.
