B738 vs B739?

Paradoxically, the 900 is actually somewhat easier to slow down and descend with than the 800. Just has to do with the overall shape of the plane and the way the aerodynamics works out. That's really the major difference you'll see aside from the tailstrike stuff.

I was more referring to Operational differences and/or Pilot/cockpit component enhancements/differences.As of pilot prospective, not how many cargo/passengers/range I can do with the bird. on how to fly the plane. e.g. in B738 there is EGPW but in 900 there is already EGPWS v2? or are there differences in Buttonsin the cockpit? or does the FMS in 900 has different or/and enhanced functions then 800, stuff like that.
The type certificate is for both, namely a pilot qualified on one is qualified on the other. Minor differences exist, e.g. tail strike attitude. From 2006, 900s and 900ERs have 215 seat capacity, the ER has a number of improvements such as strengthened fuselage and landing gear and the short field improvement package as on the 800:http://www.b737.org....7ng.htm#737-900

Since tail strike angle varies with how far they landing gear struts are extended, is this modeled? If you rotate before VR and the oleo's have not extended completely, it is much easier to strike the tail and maybe the fuselage before it rounds out. Tom Hibben
