Would be awesome if this could be simulated completely. Ever notice when taking off the wings start to bounce up and down almost like a flimsy effect. Also when going through turbulence they bounce all over the place. I've seen good wing flex modeling but still haven't seen and wings that "bounce" is it even possible to model this in FSX? It would probably take miles of code to have it looking smooth and realistic. FSX animations tend to be very jerky and unrealistic.

+1 ^^ would be great if it will be simulated completly correct but i think that it will be simulated very good

It's not "FSX" animations, it simply depends on the modeller how he animates stuff. Of course there are limitations, even just the number of animations is possible. Still, the devs have confirmed way earlier wing flex would be there in great detail, plus we shall get some additional bounce effects e. g. during taxi and the like. sig.gif

aaronrash, or whatever your name may be. Please sign your posts with your name at the bottom. So, on the subject of wingflex. PMDG have actually been modeling this effect since FS9 days with thier 747 product, if I am correct. I had thier 747 for FS9 and I believe that it may have been the first product to in fact simulate the wing bouncing around while taxiing. I could be mistaken, but I do believe that the LDS 767 also has pretty good wing flex animations. No doubt Robert and the guys at PMDG will simulate this effect very well with the NGX.

Even though I am sure PMDG will implement this into their aircrafts, as much as been said about it, you are very late if you still wanted this for the NGX!

It's not hard to model wing flex. It's a matter of second. But I doubt that it's going to "bounce" when you're taxing.

I am pretty sure that PMDG have stated the wings will flex, even when the plan taxies you will be able to see the wings bounce softly.

Awesome! I'm new to the forum so I didn't know it had been discussed. Can't wait to check it out Aaron

Yes it will, if your purchased their 747 and MD-11 (Epic aircraft), look on the wing while you taxi, it may be minute because of the magnitude of the wing , but it does, wing flex is least of our worries lol.

The NGX's do.

Then that's cool. The only time I notice wing flex is when I take-off or land. But it should be very "small bouncing" when the aicraft is only taxiing. Does it happen on turns or when you speed up taxi?

I have noticed on the many NG flights I have been on that the wing bounces quite alot during taxi (and when being push-backed) so I am glad this is featured.

First did these effects on the 744, then the MD now the NGx. Yes wing flexing is aerodynamically and applied force controlled.

It happens all the time basically, but as you say, it might be very subtle. I think it's most notable when you hit one of the gaps between the concrete panels on the apron. Remember that wings are thin and very flexible so it doesn't take much to get them moving a bit. I'm personally looking forward to it very much. sig.gif
