August 4, 201114 yr Hi fellow captains,I hope this is the right section to post. It is 737ngx related, please feel free to move if need be. In preparation of the ngx release, I had the pleasure of flying the 737-800 at flight experience in Singapore. I'm was in singapore a few days ago and now currently in Cebu, philippines. My home is Sydney so for the Next few weeks I'll be here so i will not have the pleasure of flying the ngx for a few more weeks. I was quite nervous as I sat in the sim with my instructor but I felt quite at home as my instructor asked me if I had any flying experience. I said I did, mainly fsx experience but I have done a bit of flying for my PPL. Anyway long story short, I used all my knowledge from using the fs9 version of the pmdg 737, and my aquired 737ng genuine Boeing manual which I won on eBay and let me tell you, my instructor was very very impressed!! We started cold and dark and did a full engine start with out any assistance from my (first officer). Then a taxi to RWY 16R at YSSY for a circuit and full stop. All hand flown with minimal assistance. I trimmed out the girl very nicely. Although I found the controls quite stiff, I was able to land very very well. From YSSY, we went to Macau for a short Flight to VHHH for stop and go, then to Kai tak for the 13 IGS approach. Once again, all worked out well, no bounce on touchdown, and a full stop. My instructor, who has recently been accepted to Singapore airlines, was very impressed and quite lost for words. He used many acronyms that people in the flying biz know instead of the lamenes terms which I think he is used to. From my full stop landing, we rounded off the the session with a 15kt cross wind, from the left onto 34L at YSSY. No reall introduction needed, I flew the circuit without autopilot, and landed with aileron into the wind on touchdown and straightened up with opposite rudder and most of all, I did programmed the fmc totally unassisted. The only help thing I learnt was that entering the C/G into the fmc, does not automatically change the trim.Let me be frank, It has been my dream since I was five years old to become a pilot. All my life, I have strived to make my dream a reality but with hardly any money, not great mathematical skills, I found it quite impossible to reach it even with all the support(not financial)frommy family and friends. Sadly, and it honestly breaks my heart to admit this, flying fsx/fs9 and the pmdg 737-800, is the closest I'll ever get to flying this wonderful aircraft each day, however, with this knowledge from pmdg and my manuals, my dream, although not quite fulfilled was closely realized!!!!! I thank you pmdg!!! I am only a sim fanatic for realism and, and your product has given the confidence to fly this aircraft in the very simulated world. To end my story, eventhough my dream of flying for a real aircrat is gone(marriage and kids, I'm only 27 but my dream of being a great father and husband), flying a 737 in fsx will now be even more realistic!Have fun in the girl guys/girls, treat her well and know although immlayong on the white sandy beaches of Boracay,I'm a little bit jealous of you all. Have. FunP.s- if you see any spelling mistakes, please know that im typing this on my iPhone.

August 4, 201114 yr Nice sotry. It remembers my own time on the simulator, I don't know what Flight Experience is using, but it sure looks nice. I really rememebr too how stiff and how much strngth you had to put in the yoke, which really surprised me at first. And seeing how tiring it was after 4 hours of flying time, I can just guess how much a relief is the autopilot. Aurelien Vandoorine

I know what your feeling, may be all to real, but keep on pushing, just like myself, money isn't on my side, but just keep going, with the mentality that someday, you will make it, and the reward will be far greater than you'd ever imagine. My dream may have already been over because of certain factors, but I have yet to find anything I love more than flight. You keep on pushing, never look back.
