Which Saitek Rudders?

Featured Replies

Hi,I am probably soon going to buy a set of rudder pedals, probably from Saitek. However, there are apparently three types: Pro Flight Rudder PedalsPro Flight Combat Rudder Pedals and the new Pro Flight Cessna Rudder Pedals. Which are best?

I looked at both and concluded the ProFlight Combat are the best. I bought them and am using it for FSX on the LevelD 767 and PDMG 737NGX. Even though it says "combat", it seems just like the commercial rudder pedals. They are a step up from my old CH Products Pro pedals. Setting us was easy - only 1 glitch on the settings - I had to check "Reverse Acting" - other wise the brakes were "ON" when not pressed and "OFF" when pressed - remember that. I ma very happy iththe $200 Saitek Combat pedals. I inspected both visually before I decided on the COMBAT ones.

I would not buy the regular ones again. I have had numerous occasions where they would stick and come off the rails inside, which requires you removing around 20 screws on the back-side of the unit, reseating the rollers on the rails inside the unit and then putting it back together carefully. I've got it down to around 10 minutes work, but at first it took me an hour as I didn't want to break anything. Each time you do this you introduce foreign particles which just exacerbates the issue, as the rail lubricant gets the dust in it and you end up with more "off the rail" incidents. I can't tell you which other unit I'd prefer, but I have used CH products in the past and found them to be solid. My joystick is a CH products unit and I enjoy it very much.

The Combat Rudders are fantastic. I have used the CH pedals and there is no comparison. The Combat Pedals have a lot of metal and don't move on the floor, are further apart from each other and have very solid tension to push against. I definitely recommend them.

someone of u has bought the cessna rudders one? can give us some feedback? i dont know which one to buy for use ONLY for commercial airliner like 737 to 777 thxin advanced

hello,i am also looking for rudders at the moment. are < Pro Flight Rudder Pedals > and < Saitek Pro Flight Cessna Rudder Pedal >technically different? or is it only an "visual" cessna change"? the new one price is twice as high...

I have the combat pedals and love them. I find that they are very sturdy, especially since the pedals are made out of metal.I have some problems with the sensitivities of the toe pedals and differential brakes activating, but I'm still figuring out my settings. It's not a reflection of the pedals.

I habe now received answer back from Mad Catz GmbH (Saitek Elektronic, Germany division)< Pro Flight Rudder Pedals > and < Saitek Pro Flight Cessna Rudder Pedal >the difference between this two versions is only "visual" - there are no internal technical or mechanically changes;-)flusifan

In which case, if it's between the two, I'd suggest looking around for the pro flight rudder pedals as they're cheaper. Ebay has some good bargains.
