December 26, 200322 yr Howz about a utilty that checks your FPS and if it goes below a certain threashold for a given period of time is reduces your settings a notch to boost backup framerates.Might have all maxed out at FL30000 but coming into LAX it would reduce further and further until I achieve a smooth landing. The trick would be not havingto oause and refresh the screen each time a change is made.
December 27, 200322 yr Author Actually, my son, who is 17 and studying for his PPL had a great idea tonight. He is doing ground school this weekend prior to taking his FAA written on sunday night. He was thinking it would be cool to have a "toggle" in FS that would show Airspace visually...such as Bravo being blue, Echo being pink, etc, etc. This would give a 3D view of the airspace and become a hugely valuable training tool.Embry Riddle showed something like this in one of their meteorology labs when we visited this past October but it was just a 3D rendered view for Meteorology training, not pilot training. This would be a cool addon I think.Eric AND
