What utilities do you (the simmer) want?

Featured Replies

I may have some free time soon and was interested in developing a new flight sim utility. For those who don't know me, I've made the Audio Player Configurator and A330 Livery Configurator in the past. More information is at the link below. I'm looking to develop an external utility (not in the sim or a gauge) for FS2004 which will be most likely free unless it's immensely complicated. Any ideas are appreciated. I'm also in the position to develop for a group if any group is in need of a programmer. Thanks,TimTims FS Studio

Make a gauge, actually, make a fully workable FMC with it's screen.Make some for Airbuses/Boeings, that my friend, would KICK A$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Something to turn off the SHIFT-Z function :-lol David

A hidden gauge that causes speed buffetting, stops eningines when they are abused, and simulate blowing tires..Johan[A HREF=http://www.phoenix-simulation.co.uk]Phoenix Simulation Software[/A]-----http://www.people.zeelandnet.nl/johdUnofficial PSS Website

I have a few ideas:1. A util to change all aircraft's YAW TRIP in their cfg files2. A Flightplan creator that will operate outside FS that works on the same principle as FSNAV but will be able to run on a second computer and not in the background of fs.3. Please hack fs9 and find the runway light switch so that one could switch the lights on whenever you likeRegardsT

Some type of career/airline utility.

LOL, a small on the fly repaint tool that lets you view the paint on the model without starting the sim and configures the aircraft CFG for the new textures. Abacus has a payware version of something like this.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com

I remember Fred Clausen was working on something, but what I think would be neat is a utility that would load/unload static aircraft at add-on airports so you could unload static a/c when flying offline and load up on static a/c when flying on VATSIM.

Yeah, I'd love to have something like that, the YS-11 by AFG has engines that quit if you abuse them, but an addon the could do it for any plane, hmmmmm that would be coolDan.

Boy, it would be nice to have a free utility that would create a looping flyby view. Merry Christmas!!!!!!!

Couple of small things...1 - A way to change auto weather update to every hour instead of every 15 mins since my fs computer doesn't have internet and I have to trasfer loads of weather files and Getweather causes pauses when auto-updating weather...2 - A way to automatically turn on / off max. autogen for only 1000ft above ground level. Currently do this manually since I think the textures look much better on their own above this but ground can look too flat & blurry without autogen at low level...P.

I've thought of writing this myself, but I realize I just don't have the time:The whole community could really benefit from a program to create an entire Voice. What I envision is a simple interface that would display each phrase. There would be a start/stop record button which would pick up the user's voice from a microphone and create a .WAV file with the appropriate name. The user could then playback the file, and then either accept it and go on to the next phrase or retry if the recording wasn't very good.Version 2.0 needs to add some automatic clipping capability (to blank out "dead air" at the start and end of the file) and an "Example" button which would playback one of the stock Voice phrases for those hard-to-pronounce phrases from far-away lands. The Microsoft FS Voice SDK will take an FS Voicepack file and break it down into .WAV files separated into directories by Pilot. It can then re-compile a set of Voices (up to 20?) including more than the original 10.I've thought about it a bit, and I think it would take a user about 12 hours of recording to create a Voice. It would be great to be able to have a whole set of Voices with more worldwide diversity than the basic ones provided in FS. These would be significant-sized uploads, but wouldn't it be a terrific add-on?

I would like a utility that on startup would present the user with a series of "buttons" that could be customized for different performance settings-and then load fs with these settings.e.g. Button #1 IFR (loads fs with autogen and ai traffic turned off) Button #2 High vfr (loads with everything maxed) Button #3 Med vfr (loads with sliders in mid range) Button #4 Aerobatic (loads with autogen, ai traffic, weather turned all the way down) Button #5 Megascenery (settings customized for this product) etc.Comes with "preprogrammed" settings-but allows the end user to create as many "buttons" with as many settings wanted. This way one could "quickly" run the sim in the best performance for the type of flying wanted for that session-ending performance complaints forever! :-)

I would love a utility to speed up the texture loading in FS so we ALL do not have blurry textures when flying a 737 or 777 jet.Tim
