August 6, 201114 yr Commercial Member Just thinking that Flight might have both the Professional and Standard versions that we have seen in the past. If MS took this route, what do you think should be included with the Professional version that would not be in the Standard version. Really curious to know people's thoughts in light of the Marketplace discussions too. Maybe the Marketplace would have some benefits for MS Flight Professional users. August 8, 201114 yr I've never really understood the point of 2 versions, except for the slight cost differential. Maybe that was the point

Offer a cut-down version at a lower price to attract those who won't intitially pay for the full version. An additional advantage for Microsoft is that some will upgrade and buy both. Gerry Howard

Not to mention I found copies of FS2002 Standard edition on the discount software shelves even after FSX was released. -James
August 9, 201114 yr Commercial Member not a fan .. how does it impact you? That's funny to me because I had added a rant about how this affects me, and then deleted it.Ultimately fewer versions of FS makes life easier when your making or adding content. There are far-far-far too many FSX flavors out there - you'd agree I'm sure :)
