Thrust in Engine #1 but not #2..

Featured Replies

Im pretty sure this is something to do with my setup and not FSX - but; I only get it in the 737NGX. After engines have started, I can only apply thurst to Engine #1 on my Logitech 3D Extreme Joystick. Engine #2 just stays at idle. But, I also noticed that even when pressing F4 (keyboard shortcut for FULL thurst), it stays at idle. Im at NZWN holding short to takeoff, but I cant until this is fixed! :(

Both engines or just ENG 2?

OK basic silly question ? Is number two running ? 20/60 and fuel flow ?

Engine 2 is the one with no thrust, here is the picture: 2732011_8_6_12_15_49_848.jpg You can obivously see, a few differences between the two engines, but when at idle they are almost 100% exact.

Yes Joseph I have - no different. George-Engine 2 - first:Turn off all packs, with APU on + bleed and isolation value openIgintion set to R and to GRD.Fuel Pumps are on (all 6)Fuel lever behind throttles on, at 20% n2. Apu shut off, and repeat steps for Engine 1.

Strange you should post this...... I just experienced the same thing.....but with Eng. #1. I've only taken a few short hops.....(KBHI - KPDX) and have started with cold and dark engines everytime. The ONLY thing I did different this time that I'm aware of...... I had the ground electric, AC and other unit....plugged in and running with ground power first. I then started the APU...... disconnected everything.......shut the door and brought up the airstairs..... then went through my normal start up. When I got ready to taxi......#1 engine was "stuck" at N1 367. Strange............... Steve R.SgtMajor, USMC (Retired)

I have an issue with my saitek throttle (its the saitek, no the NGX) where all the other engines are fine but #1 is different. Say at idle it is up to 40N1 and while at max thrust (120N1) its at 80N1. Ive calibrated it but nothing happens

Right. Throttle quadrant...Axes (note plural ok ?) Blue arc shows up ?
How would I find that?

Aidan, Blue arcs will show up if you select that option in the setup menu. It will show you the position of YOUR throttles compared to what the NGX A/T is commanding. Can't remember the option name off the top of my head though. :(

I had the same issue on one fligth last night Acez except I was sitting at NZAA :) Interestingly i have a Logitech Extreme 3D joystick too. I had loaded the PMDG House -800 with both engines running played around for a while then performed a restart. After doing all the checks, getting clearance from the VATSIM controller on at the time I tried to taxi but no matter what I did, no 1 wouldnt spool up. No 2 worked fine. I could even see the litle grey markers on N1 rise and fall with my joysticks throttle input, and both of the aicraft's simulated throttles move, but no 1 just wouldnt increase power. Also as mentionned by SgtMajor above, I had been playing with the ground power and ground aircon carts before starting both engines. If I used F2 on the keyboard both engines advanced as normal...go figure. When i next loaded the sim it was working fine and it hasnt happened since.

Ok got it. I would post a picture, but now the A/T wont engage! sad.png Anyways, I saw it for a few seconds - the blue arc does go to 100% on both engines but I put the throttle foward - that means that the throttle is working for both engines, but I cant explain it! @Paul - yes, I tried to use F2/F3 but that doesnt work on the Engine 2 that doesnt work. I may just have to end up trying another flight.
