Hey guys! I am trying to add Feelthere's Map and some changes on the forward view of the panel in the panel.cfg file.When I try to click Save, windows 7 forces me to save the file as another name.Is there something going on with this? Usually I click Save and the files saves without prompting me for a file name. Thanks much in advance.Teo

If you really want to, you have to disable UAC, or save the panel.cfg file to your desktop (Save as all files) then replace the default one.

Try this Teo, find the panel.cfg file using windows explorer, RIGHT click on the file and select Properties. Click on the SECURITY tab, and click on the USERS line in the "Group or users name" box. Now look down in the "Permissions for Users" box. If you only have 'Read and Execute' and 'Read' with check marks next to them, then you don't have 'permission' to modify the file. To give yourself permission, simply click on the EDIT button, and a new window will open up. click on the USERS line to activate it, then look down to the 'Permissions for Authenticated Users' box below it, and add checks into each of the box's. Click the APPLY button, and you should be done.

I use XP and I noticed that this file is marked as Read Only. Unchecking that worked for me.

Hi guys.I have another issue with panel.cfg I cannot open it with the Notepad. It won't give me such option. I want to install WX radar and I have to change something inside of panel.cfg file but I cannot open it. I need access to PMDG 73NGX panel.cfg file.Thanks

Right mouse click on the file and use the "Open with...." option.

I am not shown such options. All I see when I right click on it are- Open, Edit, Open with..., share with, restore prev. version, cut, copy, create short cut, delete and properties. That's is. Thanks

OK. It opens now. It opens only PMDG 737 NGX 800. I still cannot open all variants (800WL, 900...)I was trying to open same way yesterday and it did not open. I was trying to open today and it did not open. I tried it to open just now and it did. Not sure what the was wrong. I also tried to change permitions in security tab, may be it helped but other variants still locked. Looks like my PC playing games with me.When I right click on it it opens second window with Open With section, but Open With doesn't work. It won't show notepad option.Thank you.
