August 6, 201114 yr Made three complete flights now, and in none of them did the gear horn silencer button work. And for the passenger loading, when using the presaved panel states, I get a completely different number coming up than the number I wrote into the scratch pad and inserted. i.e. 120 I get 127 pax. And question, are all the engine thrust ratings simulated properly? I can't find anyplace where I can select different engine ratings except the temporary derate/bump. Big thank you for the NGX, well worth the money, runs great and smooth. Looking happily forward to the -600. :)
August 6, 201114 yr Author On or about final, speed around 160kts. Flaps 25 I think it was, throttle idle, gears up.
August 6, 201114 yr Gear down with flaps 15 at around 160 knots the approach should be done at 145 knots with flaps 30 or 40 for high loads Marco Negri
August 6, 201114 yr And for the passenger loading, when using the presaved panel states, I get a completely different number coming up than the number I wrote into the scratch pad and inserted. i.e. 120 I get 127 pax.I'm unable to reproduce this using the short turn panel state. Which panel state are you using, what aircraft, when are you trying to enter the passenger number, and are you typing it in with your keyboard, or using your mouse?
August 6, 201114 yr I have found this in 737-800 WL single class is not a bug topcat do the same if i insert 140 passenger the result is 147 in TOPCAT 140 + 7 +7 is the crew Marco Negri
August 6, 201114 yr I can reproduce the "xx7" passenger load thinger. Long Turn Panel State, in the 800 w/ WL (Only thing i've flown so far). Try to enter any passenger load in the CDU and it only uses the first two digits. Try to load 150..get 157...try to load 120...get 127... Tried it with both 'Tab' keyboard entering and actually typing it into the CDU. Hmm. Patrick Houghton
August 7, 201114 yr On or about final, speed around 160kts. Flaps 25 I think it was, throttle idle, gears up. The horn cannot be silenced at flaps 25, regardless of altitude or thrust lever setting. I think it's supposed to stay on for a reason. ;) Matt Cee
August 7, 201114 yr Author Yeah, of course it's supposed to warn you that your gears are up, but some times you want to wait deploying your gears, but still have to reduce speed. That's why you silence the gear horn..
August 7, 201114 yr There are several criteria where the gear horn cannot be silenced. I cant remember them all but they are in the manual. Basically in the real 737 we never have flaps extended more than 10 degrees without the gear down other than a go around. Tom Landry

That's why you silence the gear horn..Normal operations at an airline - if you're at F25 and you don't have the gear down, you've screwed up. Boeing is pretty clear on that. The only reasons I can come up with for this situation:Airshow fly by Gear malfunction Matt Cee
August 7, 201114 yr Author I see. Roger that, nice to know. :) Anybody know about about the thrust rating? (see first post question)
August 7, 201114 yr Since the thrust rating will be different for every flight depending on runway, temperature and loads you set it for each individual take off in the FMC. It will default to a 26K thrust with no assumed temperature. Tom Landry
August 11, 201114 yr Author Yes, but there are airlines operating with a "fixed" rating of 27K og 24K on the 800.
