August 7, 201114 yr Hey guys, I want to build a computer for everyday computing and FSX, but I have a pretty tight budget of only $690 (excluding monitor). However, I'm a little worried that I won't get very good performance out of FSX with such a tight budget. Anyways, I was hoping that some of you guys could give me advice on what parts to get for my build that would give me maximum performance out of FSX for my budget. Thanks in advance. :) My PC Specs: CPU: Intel i5-2500k @ 4.5Ghz (1.33v) MOBO: MSI Z68A-GD65 (G3) RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) COOLING: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus CASE: Corsair Carbide Series 400r GPU: EVGA SuperClocked GeForce Gtx 560 ti PSU: Corsair TX650M SSD: Corsair Force Series 3 120gb OS: Windows 7 Professional 64bit
August 7, 201114 yr You can go for a Core 2 duo ( Don't know the pricing for i3/ i5/ i7) with 4 GB (1333) or a Phenom (with an AMD chipset). Take a decent cooler (cooler master Hyper 212+ as you may Overclock)Better to have separate HDD for FSX.Start with a GTS 450 or an ATI 5770 (around $140's) ( you will need a good PSU )22" inch LCD are around $160.Speakers will depend on the user but my take is Altec Lansing 2.1 (you want a very good Altec then MX5021 ) Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

August 7, 201114 yr Hmmm too tight of a budget for a decent FSX rig, IMHO. Can you stretch to 1000?I'm afraid I don't have the money right now, but I could always upgrade in the future when I have the money. August 7, 201114 yr The phenom's perfom well in FSX , there are different price ranges. I used to have an Intel Dual Core 3.0 ghz overclocked to 3.6 Ghz go nice FPS, then I switched to an Athlon X3 445 a few days a ago good performance. If you are not looking at using high end scenery add ons and aircrafts then a C2d with GTS 450 or ATI 5770 would be decent but remember these two graphics card may require a good PSU which are a bit costly. Hopefully other experienced members here @forum might be able to suggest a decent setup for you. Nowadays setting up a system means looking for a perfect woman or a wife. August 7, 201114 yr Honestly I'd just save up the extra 300. You want a i5 2500K CPU with a decent z68 or p67 mobo. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
August 7, 201114 yr You could just about get to that with an AMD 970 BE with an Nvidia 460 and 6g ram, Asus MB. Believe you will fine it runs FSX as well as some of them 1500.00 rig! Ive managed to have a stable OC on a 970 to 4.2 ghz. Its running FSX and the NGX much better than what I'm reading about some of these sandy Bridge computer performances! You dont need to spend bucoo bucs on a case! You could just about get to that with an AMD 970 BE with an Nvidia 460 and 6g ram, Asus MB. Have been using them since years, these dude's cost less but they will perform. Whatever you get you will need to tweak your fsx maybe except a few ppl who got lucky run it without any tweaks.
