  1. 600w will be enough. However, I'd go for a Corsair or Seasonic power supply if I were you. I would go for the Corsair tx650w v2 power supply.
  2. If you have the extra money and see yourself putting the 2600k's hyper threading to good use, then I don't see why not.
  3. Yeah, swap out the 2600k for the i5 2500k and get a more reliable psu. That OCZ psu has gotten good reviews, but other brands such as seasonic and corsair offer more reliability over OCZ.

  5. Wow, how disappointing. XP10 was looking very promising..... I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed for MSflight :(
  6. Speaking of Ivy Bridge, do you have any idea of when it should be released?
  7. Concord Massachusetts... AKA rich town

  9. That's a great setup. 1. If you don't need hyperthreading then I'd save $100 and go with the i5 2500k.2. Both Corsair and Kingston are great. 2 X 4gb is what you want to go for. Cl7 is a bit faster than cl8 although you won't see a huge performance gain and yes dual channel.3. Great choice.4. Asus makes great quality motherboards.5.Good6. It depends if you prefer water or air cooling, but both the Noctua HD-14 and the Corsair H100 are the more higher end CPU coolers.7. 1000w is plenty. I'd go with corsair because of high quality. Hyperthreading - http://en.wikipedia....Hyper-threading- Most applications don't really use hyperthreading. 4 sticks would cause more strain on the memory controller and motherboard chipset. It would take slightly longer for the CPU to add and retrieve data from 4 sticks as opposed to 2. For this reason, 2 x 4GB would be faster than 4 x 2GB.

  11. I just want it to be coded better than fsx... that's all.
  12. Could you list your computer specifications and also have you tried installing the latest drivers for your graphics card? That could be the problem.
  13. Alright, so even overclocked the i5 2400 still beats out the 965. I also realize that the 2500k is only $30 more at Newegg, but then I would also have to buy a more expensive motherboard and cpu cooler to take advantage of the overclocking abilites of the processor, so it's really about $90 more.
  14. Hello, I wanna build a computer, but I'm not sure what CPU to get on a budget. I was just wondering how an AMD Phenom II X4 965 (Oc'd @4ghz) would perform against a locked Intel i5 2400 at stock 3.1ghz? I would like to know because it's really not looking like I'll be able to afford an i5 2500k right now.
  15. Yeah, There's one just about 15 minutes from my house. It's definitely a nice convenience.
  16. Sorry guys, I actually forgot to mention that my setup includes both windows 7 home premium and an asus DVD Burner. If any of you are wondering how I got the price to be pretty low, this is because I found an excellent deal on microcenters website. The i5 2500k is $180 and they also have a deal that if you buy a sandy bridge processor, you can also get a compatible h67, p67, or z68 motherboard from their list for an extra $40 off the original price of the motherboard. Just thought I'd throw that in for anybody on a budget like me.
  17. Hey guys, I just want to thank you all for all of your help, it's greatly appreciated. I think I'll go ahead and buy the setup that I posted before, but with an asus p67 motherboard insted of the MSI one.
