Temp Zone prob?

Featured Replies

Before I took off, Zone Temp indicators for fwd and aft cabin alerted me. So, I took QRH and tried to solve it but with no success. Soon after take off, cont cab zone temp light turned on too. Any way to extinguish those lights? All temps are about 20*C Lj. Prodanovic

"Trip" button under the zone temp controls. Did you press it? 1Temperature selector(affected cabin) . . . . . . . . . . . . . Select a coolertemperatureThis prevents the trim air modulating valve from returning to an overheat condition.2TRIP RESET switch . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . PushThe ZONE TEMP light extinguishes if the duct temperature has cooled below limits.3 If duct temperature increases rapidly:TRIM AIR switch. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . OFF

Zach hit the nail on the head. I had this happen for the first time. I was departing KLAS and the temp was 38C. I just dialed lower temperatures with the temp control knobs and pressed the reset button and that fixed the problem. This should not happen because in the real plane the temp sensor for the ZONE TEMP is in the supply duct down stream of the pack so it would not be effected by external ambient temperatures. It would only be subject to the temperatures you are asking for with the temperature control knobs. In my case I was only indicating a 20C duct temp which is not hot enough to cause a ZONE TEMP light. High ambient temperatures could cause a PACK light to come on but not ZONE TEMP.

I've experienced the ZONE TEMP issue a couple times now. There is an issue with the simulation. I have found that the temp climbs to 90C then the ZONE TEMP lights come on and the trim air valves close and the temp drops to about 20C. If you reset the system the cycle will repeat. I have discovered if you move the temperature knob one click either direction the problem goes away and the system behaves normally.

Good item for a hotfix :-) I also have the overheat problem with trim air on, I leave trim air off and the error does not occur

Very important to get the Zone Temps correct !! The passengers are depending on you !!!!!

Zone temp will illuminate in case of overheat or in case of a controller failure. In case of Overheat, the zone temp comes on and can be reset when temp will decrease. In case of failures, if the failure is not critical the light comes on only by pushing the master caution recall, this will alert the pilots that maintenance actions must be taken, but the system is functional. If the failure compromises the temp control, the zone temp will immediatly illuminate and cannot be reset.
