multimonitor 737NGX

Featured Replies

Ok, I was running Prosim737 networked and now tried PMDG NGX. First I tried: Main pc with gtx580 and th2go with 3x 22" then i put in additional gtx460 gpu NO SLI 2x 19" screen So outside view on 3x22" at triplehead2go on 5040x1080 and some intruments on 2 19" screen...decent FPS! Anyone else doing this ? Pitty that there is no 2D THrottlequadrant... Anyone tried with more monitors already ? Maybe gonne attache 10" touchscreen by USB...wondering what that will do with performance...

Hi I've tried the NGX on my 7 screen setup - TH2go for 3 view screens, DH2go for main instrument panel across 2 touch screens, a side touch screen for CDU and aft pedestal, and the last screen above for the overhead. This is how I planned to fly the NGX, but I've been disappointed with the quality of the 2D panels, the lack of a 2D throttle quadrant, and no F.O. DU's. Instead I'm using a 30" monitor with one of the touch screens to put the CDU on, for VC with TIR. I know a lot of folks don't understand why anyone would want to use 2D panels, but for multiple monitors, it makes a lot of sense. Having said that, the VC in the NGX is so spectacular and clear, that I'm enjoying flying it that way more than any other addon. And, the HGS helps get around the conundrum of not having enough vertical pixels to see the instruments and the runway on approach. You don't need to see no stinking instruments (although you still can) with the info displayed in the HGS. Brilliant PMDG!

I've got four monitors hooked up to two GTX 280s. I don't use a TH2G because I like the greater than 180 degree view you get by dragging and re-sizing VC views, and in spite of the resulting distortions. I've sacrificed most display features such as autogen and complex weather, but I'm still getting frame rates in the high teens to low twenties. Apart from the dual graphics cards I've got an i7 940 and 6 Gb RAM with Vista 64. The NGX is worth the sacrifice in my view. It's simple to change display settings, which I'll do when I want some other plane with more display features.

Hi I have two nvidia GTX 580 cards and 3 monitors two are hd 23" and one 20" pc monitor . I would like to spread the ngx on the 2 hd and use the third monitor for mapsHow should i connect the 3 monitors and 2 cards? Should i use sli?I managed to connect all 3 as one spred of 3900 pixels wide and no more . Need helpMoshe

I have a similar setup with GTX460's. If you run FSX in windowed mode, and your system can handle the extra work load of other apps running in conjunction with FSX, you shouldn't have any problems.Another option, brought up in another topic, is to purchase an inexpensive laptop and run all your nav data from there. I use an old tablet PC for just such, and I love it. I want to keep my 3-monitor setup for NGX wide view only, and my resources are limited.
