August 9, 201114 yr So I was reading.... http://forum.avsim.net/topic/343251-texture-max-load-editor/page__pid__2056019#entry2056019 My question is, How do you make 4096 stay in the cfg file without defaulting back? Jeff Trozzo
August 9, 201114 yr never ever go to the graphics option inside fsx again ... otherwise you have to edit it again P.L. TranAMD Ryzen 5800x; 32 GB Ram; EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3; Win10 64 Bit
August 9, 201114 yr Iv'e found it useful to create a shortcut to fsx.cfg on my desktop. That way if I ever do change anything it's a lot easier going there & changing it back to 4096. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
August 10, 201114 yr Author never ever go to the graphics option inside fsx again ... otherwise you have to edit it againWonderful...But he even states..."and change location (scenery) the 4069 will default back to 1024."I never noticed FSX doing this till now. MrKen...Good idea on the shortcut! Jeff Trozzo
August 10, 201114 yr I set everything I need in the setup and after that I edit the fsx.cfg and change it to 4096 ...Since I have everything I need set up I don't need to edit the cfg again since I never access the setup again ...Thats what i meant P.L. August 10, 201114 yr Good post about this thanks to someone in the REX forums: http://realenvironmentxtreme.com/forum/index.php?topic=898.0 Brandon Burkley
August 10, 201114 yr Author Wow...see what I get for asking... ....Alrighty then...I never would have thought. P.L., for now I'll just do like you said...Brandon, that link is awesome and I like the idea of multiple .cfg's sure would make it easier. Will make for good reading. Thanks guys! Jeff Trozzo
August 10, 201114 yr yeah the link was a great read ... never thought of it ...will remember it in the future if needed :) P.L. TranAMD Ryzen 5800x; 32 GB Ram; EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3; Win10 64 Bit
August 10, 201114 yr Yeah, us REX users are pretty familiar with the whole 1024/4096 thing. It is second nature by now. Also a good way to check different graphics things like buffer pools, highmemfix and other cfg tweaks while underway. Also a good way to see the effect of 1024 versus 4096. i7 3770K HT, 8GB RAM, nVidia 980GTX, Win7, P3D 3.4, FSG mesh, UTX, GEX, ST, ASA16/ASCA, NickN optimized
