August 18, 201114 yr It's the best Airliner in FSX without doubt. It's true capacity is yet to be reached by many users, including me as well. Wonderful aircraft. Cheers. Mike Llewellyn
August 18, 201114 yr The NGX is the best add-on ever! Congrats & thank you PMDG for an excellent job!Had it for 2 days now, started with manual VMC landings, then raw data NDBs & VORs, her manual handling is just fantastic!Did 2 flights on Vatsim everything went so smooth, my Vatsim experience is so much better now with the NGX. Didin't have any problems whatsoever...for me it is the most bug free add-on ever! Kind regardsR.G
August 18, 201114 yr I think the issues for some other users (yes, myself included) is that the comments that came from beta testers and PMDG representatives prior to release about the NGX being amazingly frame rate friendly, and smoother than the MD-11 on frames seem to have similarly come from users with high end systems. With a 32bit OS and a Core2Quad E9650 3.0Ghz (ok it's old but its not exactly a Celeron) I am getting frame rates of 12 where I would see 35 in the PMDG MD-11 with the same settings. And it's not just frames; stutters, graphical distortions (skeleton airplane), and OOMs / CTDs. Running happily on a Q6600 2.8 and a 8800GTS with slightly better performance as for the MD-11 and JS41 and smoother. YMMV. August 19, 201114 yr ....I would truly love to know how. (Genuinely). Freshly installed FSX out of the default programs folder (I have it on my Z disk).Tweaked my nVidia card with nVidia Inspector following this thread. Setting Antialias - Setting to 8xQ, Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling to OFF/Multisampling and Anisotropic FIltering to 16xFollowed tweaks in introduction except for TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD set to 1024.Loaded NGX with hotfix 2922. That's it. Oh I do run UT2 50% traffic (0% GA, 0% cars and boats). Some add-on airports like Aerosoft ESSA, Blueprint CYYZ and KBOS. ASE on secondary machine via SimConnect. Other than that stock. Is that on a 64 bit OS, Win 7 ?As stated in my signature. Yes. Cheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
August 19, 201114 yr Not being at all facetious here, but take a look back up this thread at the praise posts, and look at the system specs. Almost without exception, everyone with the perfect performance is running an i7 processor, ranging from 3.6-4.8ghz and a 64bit system. I think the issues for some other users (yes, myself included) is that the comments that came from beta testers and PMDG representatives prior to release about the NGX being amazingly frame rate friendly, and smoother than the MD-11 on frames seem to have similarly come from users with high end systems. It all points to a wonderful product, but one that has abandoned the 32bit users and those who can't afford an i7. I hope PMDG will consider a resource-lite version of the NGX for 32bit users with things like lower def textures. If I could get to the performance of the MD-11 I'd be ecstatic, but even the PMDG 747 performance would be an improvement. All that said; yes, it is a simply STUNNING product, beautiful flight dynamics, visuals, systems and features. I know money is a scarce resource nowadays, seems the whole world owes each other - but a I2600/i2500 costs less than you paid for your E chip probably, when you say 32bit are you talking xp or vista? if vista it probably worse than 32 bit xp - you can get the cheaper version of windows 7 64 bit nowadays and you would see some major improvements, look out for sellers selling an OEM version of it to get it even cheaper. You didnt mention your graphics card, again some decent ones to be picked up nowadays and not for a load of cash - dont need to go for the top of the range to see benefits. In respect of performance of the NGX - I do have a fairly High end system - so things do run well, but the NGX considering the amount that is included in it - runs smoother than the js41 and 747 - never really fly the MD11 even though I do own it. Runs smoother than the level-d and all of those run smooth on my system. Like I say Im more than aware that throwing money at your computer might not be an easy option for everyone - but you can really pick up some decent hardware for quite a good price at the moment, without having to go totally over the top on specs and price - the I2500/2600 benefits are the ability to overclock them to really see the benefits in FSX. Christmas is coming - perhaps if you good - you can talk santa into getting you an upgrade. Regards James Carr
August 19, 201114 yr The more I fly this plane the more I enjoy it! All the little details like the glare and finger smudges on the DU's the actuators for the LE slats and even the N1 thrust diverters when in reverse! I am in ah everytime I fly it.The bloody sound set was worth the 70$ alone! By far the best sim for FSX to date. Cheers, My system is very similar to yours, but I get much better performance with the J41 than I do with the NGX. Makes me want to pull my hair out. Curt Branch
