I would like to know if I download the NGX off of the PMDG site if both 'Hot-Fixes' will also install or will I have to download each of them separately. Also, will I need WinZip for this initial download of the NGX or any future downloads from their site?? Regards,jen noulet

Once the base installer is finished you should be able to check the version number & see if that matches the latest hotfix (1.00.2922)

You don't need Winzip especially, just a tool to unzip the file and there is a lot of freeware around.

If you can still dl the file because you got the extended dl or didn't buy it on day one just dl it again and open the .txt ... there should be a version number which should be 1.00.2922since I bought day 1 my download link should be expiered and can't dl it again ...

I'm assuming from the above posts that once the base installer is finished, that this will also place the NGX into the appropriate fsx folder in addition to letting me know what version I currently have, however, I will need some type of unzip freeware to download any hot-fixes if they are not presently being incorporated into the current NGX downloadable software purchase. doesn't windows have an internal unzipper ? this should work ... if you have something newer than windows 3.11otherwise try 7zip ... its free and good

Great info. Thanks. One other question regarding the 7zip free unzipping software. Their site states: "7-Zip is a file archiver with a high compression ratio. Which one should I download....I've got Win7 Home Edition but Isn't the NGX software a for 32-bit x86 enviroment?? if you have a 64-bit OS it's better to download the 64-bit version. This only affects how the zipper is built & has nothing to do with what sort of file is in the archive you want to unzip.

Right click Computer. Click properties. Next to where it says Windows 7 home premium it will say 64bit or 32bit. If it says 64 bit, download the x64 version. if it says 32bit download the x86 version

So for those of us who archive setup files (my DL window ended this past Friday), is it worth keeping up with these hotfixes or just replace them with the SP's as they release.
