Not sure which picture you mean. The icons in the startscreen of SIMStarter are obviously hardcoded. But the splashscreen of FSX/P3D can easily be changed. Here in example how you can change it for FSX: create a bmp with the size of 800x600 got to the folder ...\SIMStarter\SplashScreens\FSX\ rename the picture you would like to replace e.g. SIMstarter_Set2_VFR.bmp to SIMstarter_Set2_VFR.org name the bmp you created in step 1: SIMstarter_Set2_VFR.bmp copy this bmp file to the folder in step 2 You're done.

Really a strange kind of "error" reported. I'm using Simstarter now for about 3 month very intensively on P3D and FSX with 8 different profiles for betatesting various addons and I never came across an issue like this. But what I have seen that a certain kind of user thinks that one tool is not enough and fiddle around with other tools also manipulating the same files (fsx.cfg and scenery.cfg) and wondering when something gets broken.

I use charts from the following sources: - skyvector.com for NA - Eurocontrol for Europe, you need a free account for the latest and official charts: http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadcms/eadsite/index.php.html - Australia: http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/pending/dap/AeroProcChartsTOC.htm (also free) For the rest I use Navigraph

Today I installed AS2012 in a network environment and everything runs fine except the xgauge installation reports an error: - client and server are running Win7 64bit - FSX is installed on a separate drive - full access from the client to this drive (I can edit from the client any file and save it) - running the Wizard as Administrator. So this is bad luck when you do not have a windows CD. I wonder how this could happen, loosing a CD???? In this case I strongly recommend you to buy a new copy of windows. There are 2 ways: - as a student - or a systembuilder version here price is about the same. Everything else doesn't make sense, regardless what other might say! Sorry to say that. And that it doesn't happen when using FSX, is simply luck. As in this case Windows might not use those components that are needed during surfing or during other tasks.

When installing a new hardware like a mobo, it is essential to do a clean install of your entire system including the OS. Except you have a software that allows a baremetal restore. I guess you didn't do so, when reading this: "...new hardware detected". If you did, did you try to do a safe boot?

In my case I use a safe deposit box at my bank, it got enough room for a folder and 2 HDs for the price of 45 Euro p.a.

Making an Airbus with the same system depth like a Boeing is a completely different thing. The Airbus systems are so completely different from those of a Boeing, that without support from Airbus it is nearly impossible to make an addon comparable with the NGX. I've attended the FSLAbs session at the Flightsim convention in April in Germany and I'm very skeptic that FSLabs can keep the promises they made.

Try Dutch Harbor in Alaska. It can be really challenging.

As long as there are software developers like Aerosoft, PMDG, Orbx and others and a huge community providing us nearly every week with commercial and freeware addons, no need to switch to another flightsimulator. Only when the majority starts to switch to another simulator, I might change too, but this will take years. Look at the transition periode from FS2004 to FSX, which is still lasting. At the moment IMHO a logical step would be to switch to Prepare3D as it allows with less effort to transfer existing addons from FSX to P3D. But this of course depends on the intention of LM, where they want to go with P3D. And so it is good to know that there is another alternative with X-Plane, which for sure will get better and better especially when supported by companies like Aerosoft and PMDG.

The navdata are provided by Navigraph. The NGX comes with a set of data that was up-to-date at the time of the availability of the NGX. To get actual navdata you need to set up an account at Navigraph. Each cycle costs 20 credits = 2 Euro.So either you ignore this message or you set up an account and buy a new AIRAC.BTW: If you have more addons using Navigraph data you have to buy each cycle only once!
