It looks like the whole flightsim world is screaming for a good long haul Airbus.

There are a few on the market but the quality is not great.

 

Why is no addon maker for FSX/FS9 building an A330/A340?

FSLabs is. Just don't expect them this year. Once they're done with the A320 family (A319 A320 A321), they will jump on the heavies. Shame they're leaving out the cute A318.

Still wondering why big addon makers (like: PMDG, QW, Aerosoft) don't build the A330/ A340 why so many people ask for it.

 

Oke for PMDG I know it, they focus on boeing...

A340 is my fav plane, they come right over my head every day at 13:00 on there way to the USA then again at 23:00 on there way to Brazil. They drag their underpowered feet off Zurich (not the Thai -600 version though! ) and do a slow left turn at 2000ft AGL, great to watch....but so far we can't fly them Some day....

Making an Airbus with the same system depth like a Boeing is a completely different thing. The Airbus systems are so completely different from those of a Boeing, that without support from Airbus it is nearly impossible to make an addon comparable with the NGX.

 

I've attended the FSLAbs session at the Flightsim convention in April in Germany and I'm very skeptic that FSLabs can keep the promises they made.

I def prefer Boeing planes, just my preference. What Otto said is also very necessary and true if they were to build an Airbus. It doesnt look like that relationship is in place at the moment.

Every attempt to make an Airbus has failed IMHO, I hope fslabs can get it close to right, but after following AirSimmer for years just see to see all crash and burn overnight has really killed any interest or hopes for an Airbus for my sim.

I too think this is a shame. There is a gaping hole for a decent airbus. I am pinning quite a few hopes on mentioned airbus and would love to see A330 and A340. Dont get me wrong I am really looking forward to the 777 but I have been desperately wanting an airbus for years now. I admit I am a little biased towards PMDG stuff as it appeals to my rather anal nature. As a result I sit firmly in the PMDG build me an airbus camp. That said however it is not my business and the chaps will make what they consider to be comercially viable and within the abilities of the team. My concern is airbus not providing the data required by the team to do a decent job of it. If that really is the case then I don't see PMDG ever doing one. But hey guys we can't have it all.

 

Guess we shall just have to wait and see what shows up in the next few months from a developer or two.

If FSLabs can develop an A3XX where more than half of the systems are modeled, then I would buy it. But I don't think we're really going to get a high-quality Airbus, in my opinion.

because most of the customers are from the USA and a conman saying here is if it isn't Boeing you aint going . but i would second the a380-900 just because it is the king of the sky.
