Update on the Activation issue please?

Featured Replies

Hi there, I know you are working on it, and I really appreciate it. I am one of the few guys that hasn't been able to activate the product, after almost 12 days it came out. I have a Win7 64 bits in Spanish. I enter the code, it says product activated and then the activation window appears again, and again, and again. Last update on this matter is from Saturday... and you said that we had to wait until monday to know something. Any news at all? Thanks for your help.

Do you have the latest (todays) hotfix? that fixed it for some users. not all. PMDG can only go as fast as the activation software producers work

I too would like to have an update on the fix for the activation problem. I have windows 7 ultimate english (USA). I added the optional language packs from microsoft. Some more news would be helpful. Seventy dollars is a lot to pay for a product that i cannot use. FSX starts without a hitch. However when I choose the 737NGX, the activation window opens, but will not accept the key (Neither copy and paste nor typing it in). As i type the characters in they quickly disappear. Any help would be nice soon!.

+1 I even don`t have any ''activation screen''. I`m able to load the NGX but it is unfunctional, everything is dead. About week ago I received an external activation window but it didn`t help.My system is Windows xp 32-bits, polish language.

Hi there, thanks for your reply, NGX. Yes I did download the latest fix and i tried the temp solution found by a forum user, trying to be very "quick" in the copy and paste procedure. No joy unfortunately.

Unfortunately you'll just have to wait until PMDG have things sorted with the protection company. They're the bottleneck in all this, not PMDG.

As i am fortunate enough not to have this problem, i have not been following threads on this subject too closely, but cannot help but pick up on what you just posted here. Are we saying that PMDG and thier product are not responsible for this. It is rather, an organization providing them with a service (for which i assume they are paying) is responsible for the activation problem?

Correct. PMDG made the aircraft. A company called FlexNet made the licensing/activation etc for it

Yes, the company that PMDG has contracted to implement their anti-piracy, server protection, and data security schemes is currently working with PMDG to sort these issues to a conclusion, as PMDG has determined that the problems are on their end. RSR (PMDG head honcho) has posted a pinned thread about this in detail. It might still be there.

Thats what PMDG are trying to make them do. But there is only so much they can do while maintaining strong bonds between the 2 companies.

That maybe but this is hurting PMDG and maybe they should observe the incredible effort PMDG has been puting in to help thier customers.

My two pennies worth: even though a third party contracted by PMDG has built the installer, PMDG is directly responsible for ensuring all functionality testing has been completed correctly and the installer works flawlessly before placing the product out for download. To date, PMDG have not even offered all of us who cannot activate even an ounce of compensation for our endless wait or even a complementary gift (600/700 series) upon completion of that product to ease our frustration. This would ease a huge amount of frustration and anger amongst many of us who just get a lame response through the support tickets we have all opened regarding this issue. J

They cannot tell whether everything will work 100% until it is released. There is only so much beta testers can do. Its the exact same with any product release from any company.

Lame excuse once again from a third party no doubt? I used to design the things, I know what goes on behind the scenes and by the way. You can!
